According to the people in Watson Lake, that is the gear he plans on using this season.
How do you even get this info?

(I'm not questioning it in the slightest, I'm just in awe, and we're lucky to have you)

The black pads he wore in Arizona were all black with no red.

The mask looks to be the one he wore at the All-Star game last year, so we'll still have to wait to see that.

2016-17: SV% on Arizona... 0.914..... what more could you possibly want from a guy on a terrible team?
I'm actually pretty creeped out that you posted this.

But all are highly possible.

Why is that creepy? Fans on here notice loud anti-Flames posters. You fit into that category a lot more than I bet you think. You're not a "view from the other side" opposition fan like Oilfan#81 or nmwild, you're a former Flames fan that chucked the team and then hung around to spit on the Flaming C in what you perceive to be subtle, sparse ways.

It isn't the reality of your posting style, you're too obvious.

Just did a quick check on his split stats last season and I found something very intriguing.

Mike Smith in the first half of the season (2016) had a .920 sv%
Mike Smith in the last half of the season (2017) had a .910 sv%

My hypothesis is that Arizona's season was still competitive and the games still had meaning, the team played better in front of him and he in turn performed at an elite level. Whereas in the last half of the season, his team gave up on the season and he in turn struggled as scoring chances and shots allowed probably ballooned in the process.

If that is the case I could see Mike Smith performing at a high level all throughout the season with a better team and motivation that he hasn't seen in years. If he can deliver a .920 sv% with the Coyotes defense, then who knows, he might be even better with our defense core.

Well he's only been over .916 for a season once in his career. So expecting him to be better than that at 35 is a stretch. He's .913 over his career and that's what I expect this season.

He's never had this good of D core in front of him either, something to think about.

You can bet that the Flames are banking on that exact same logic.

If you actually divide his season in half:
In the first half of the season (28 games up to Jan 21) Mike Smith had a .915 sv%
In the second half of the season (27 games up to Apr 8) Mike Smith had a .913 sv%

As for:

Up to Jan 21, the team was 14-26-6 (while Smith was healthy, 9-17-5). After that, they were 16-16-4. Hardly a team giving up.

It's not like the Flames D have been improving goalies stats in recent years either.

I hope he proved me wrong, but I don't think it's reasonable to expect him to do better than .915.

If anything playing in front of the Flames defense is bad for goaltenders stats relative to where they played previously. Maybe Hamonic can bring some defensive stability but while a very good overall group of defensemen with good skating, skill and puck movement it's nowhere close to being an air-tight defensive back end. I would expect Smith to be in the area of .915 at best but that's probably good enough for this team.

I can wait to hit up B&A this season after the Yotes literally pay Smith to beat them

Forget the additions, with Wideman gone it must be worth .010 better stats
