Regardless, this kid sounds like alot of fun, and tons of potential

My kid played against Bedard in bantam, that doesn't give me any cred. Haha

Most of us knew that Iguchi, despite his skill, was always a longshot. At least DuPont already has sufficient size and seems to have optimal development circumstances.

Iguchi is so not comparable to this, nor is Norway. haha.
But ya, still a lot of hockey to go for him. His P(S) is rising but its definitely not 100% for sure.
All to say is he's doing special sh%t and has been for a long time and real hockey people (those who get paid) know it and are saying the same thing. Just keep your eyes out.

I missed the part about Boomer? What did it have to do with Montour?

They must have been discussing someone else. I have a hard time believing they would be dedicating air time to a 14yr old playing in a U18 tourney on Sirius NHL radio.
Given his age he is no sure thing to be an NHL'er, but in the here and now he is exceptionally talented and is an exceptional player.

Way more cred then me. lol. Mine is a "cool story bro". My boss would tell me how much his kid hated playing against Bedard's team, as he was a D man, and got absolutely lit up when they played against him. lol

Does Landon have the same fiery nature on the ice as his old man? I recall Micki Dupont was pretty feisty for an undersized player.

Didn’t see anything too fiery, but he gets into the game - he hits and he takes hits, doesn’t shy away

He plays a much more skilled game and doesn't get too involved in the fiesty side. Similar as you would see from such as Makar. Micki had to be fiesty due to the nature of the game when he was in the league.

Confirmed by Friedman that DuPont is expected to go exceptional this week.
2nd from the WHL ever I believe he said.
Congrats!

So does that mean that Landon Dupont will be the first Albertan ever to gain exceptional status?

All Albertan's are exceptional. That's what I was taught in school during the Klein years.

Hockey Canada granted Landon DuPont, a 14-year-old defenceman from Calgary, exceptional player status Monday.
That means DuPont will be eligible for the Western Hockey League draft May 9 and able to play in the league on a full-time basis starting next season.

Interesting decision for him and his family. WHL as a 15 year old and play three or four years in the W or go play in the USHL for two years and play a year or two in the NCAA. It used to be a no-brainer to play in the CHL but the quality of the NCAA has become so much better that there's a really solid argument that that would be a better development path for a top prospect like this. Playing against 24 year olds before going pro is a real advantage compared to kids in the CHL. I know that DuPont is talking to both Denver and North Dakota.

Dupont should tell teams he will only play for Hitmen.
