Recommending a chain may be a bit of a faux pas, but Domino's new pan pizza is pretty tasty, if you are looking for thicker pizza. They have a 50% off sale right now, making it dirt cheap.
You can load it up with toppings and then ask for it to be cooked extra crispy...it's pretty tasty.

The Domino's Brooklyn Pepperoni cooked well done is really tasty as well.
Niko's Pizza on 11th street and 14 Ave SW is 100% legit!! Family run operation, always a nice crispy crust, tangy sauce, ample amount of toppings, loaded with cheese that goes all the way to the crust and excellent service all around.
I usually get the takeout since I frequent the area, they offer a nice discount for picking up the pie but I have also had delivery as well, always speedy service.
Nothing beats a nice pizza, having the boys over at your pad and watching a Flames victory!

I used to love Odyssey, but after the ownership changed, I found the quality dropped off significantly. I know it's changed again since, tried it once and the pizza was dry from a lack of pizza sauce. never went back.
I'll throw another vote in for Volos.
When did ownership change? I haven't been there in years but when I went it was always great

It was probably 3-4 years ago when it changed hands. It was a Greek family that had the place for 30+ years and they were nearing retirement and decided to sell. The place was an established pub, restaurant with a good takeout and delivery business but it was in need of a renovation as it was DATED inside.
The biggest advice that was given to the new owners was to leave things as is, don't try changing things that aren't broken. First thing they did was start cutting back on a whole host of things and it started to show. In less than a year the place went belly up and it was taken over by another Greek guy who's attempting to bring it back to it's former self, they remodeled inside and it looks good.
I am not quite sure who's the owner now but the food's good and they have some solid specials too.
Used to live in the Beltline and I've tried all of the pizza places there. For a thick pie, Eddy's Nest is the best, followed by Niko's as a close second.
I'm told Odyssey and Matador once had the same owners. Different owners now, but it seems the menus and recipes remain very much the same.
I know when Odyssey rebranded it was same matador owners . So it changed again? Not as good now? There is an A plus pizza down the road that is pretty good. Howies pizza is really good and around the area too
Pick up the mic - olive grove in douglasdale......now drop mic
Gross.
Had Jon's Pizza on the other side of Douglasdale a couple of times. I thought it was pretty good for a non-chained pizza place, or maybe because work paid for it. Another vote for Great Canadian Pizza in Copperfield for people in the suburbs.
