It's a weird feeling to cheer for the Canucks. Feels dirty

We should thank Lindholm for being greedy and not signing. But I refuse to cheer for him or Zadorov as he Mike Smith’d the team on his way out.

Some of those posters are secondarily Flames fans as well. Fans can have more than one identity.
The Predators are basically my local team and I follow them as much as I follow the Flames. I would think I can engage with both bases.

I appreciate the fans of the other 30 teams. Nice to get their perspective sometimes.
Canuck fans in here imploring us to tell jokes that make them laugh is hilarious.

Same here. I really like this forum and have been a member since 2007.
Have I said some stupid things? Yes. But I was drunk.
Seriously though. Lots of great posters with good insight regarding one of our biggest rivals, but more importantly...I enjoy reading the negative stuff about my team too.
Who wants to read only what fanboys post?
Thank you CP for letting me be a member.
And I know my place here 97% of the time...plus I lived in Calgary for a while too...and we hate some of the same grease...err... things.

Well if the Flames were playing the Canucks I would cheer for the Canucks. If the Flames were playing the Sharks I would cheer for the Flames.
I didn't think that was that weird.

Canucks should lose the next two to give Demko maximum healing time

That’s because the Canucks have been winning, albeit just barely. I trust the faithful here won’t fail us if the Preda eliminate the Canucks.

Did the Canucks rush Demko back? I know it wasn't the same injury... just feels as though he wasn't near 100% in his return.
Or is he just a player that's often injured?

The latter. The Canucks left Demko out longer than was necessary. He was pain free and cleared by Doctors about 2 - 3 games before he actually played, so he sat for roughly an extra week to be safe.
There's some small solace that this isn't his hips again, but that it's being described as a strange knee injury it isn't exactly great news.

I feel like they overplayed him during the season. I remember checking back near the all star break, and Demko was number 1 in minutes played and by a fairly wide margin. Georgiev was number 2, I think. The numbers at the end of the year have balanced out due Tocchet being forced to sit Demko with his injury, but I think that was a contributing factor to Demko getting hurt. It was never necessary to do that either as Canucks were fine and making the playoffs regardless.
Silovs starts tonight.

Though Drance suggesting that Canucks still trying to hold their cards to their chest.

Canucks Fans must just be praying that some series goes 7 games to give them as much time as possible to get healthy.

There was actually a logic to it, rightly or wrongly. Demko's hips have long been a problem. They're what he hurt before the draft. They're what he hurt near the end of the Boudreau year that required surgery. After that, he came to camp and wasn't quite right which led to a groin injury that was directly related to the recovery from his hip.
This season, he had the full off-season of preparation so the goal was to get him a full starters load, trying to push him to a point where he had been unable to get to before in regards to games and time played. In some respects, it was a success. He kept his play up through to March and his hips were not a problem in any way which is an optimistic thing.
Unfortunately it may just be that he doesn't have a body that can play Ian Clark's explosive goaltending style and start 65+ games a year. I don't think this is a knock, I am not sure many people can. Even Markstrom got hurt deeper into seasons. I hope they take this year as a sign that, while his hips are not likely to fall off in the next few years like there was concern about, he needs to be in that modern day 50 - 55 game sweet spot.
