Great to see Howse with a big game
Wahl had a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win
Bennett had an assist in a 5-4 win
Patterson was a +1 in a 4-3 win
Bouma was -1 in a 2-1 loss
Backlund scored the only goal for the Heat in a 2-1 loss..Lundmark assisted on it.
Irving played and stopped 29 of 31.

Brodie was looking at eclipsing even his impressive stats from last year. Wonder what the team change will be like for him.
The Barrie Colts are looking like a really strong team this year as well. Brodie is 2nd in OHL scoring for a defenseman. only 5 points behind Fowler with 3 less games played.

Well I'm disappointed, now I will only have one chance to see Brodie this year, Barrie only comes to Windsor once.
Hopefully the trade works out well for him though.
I saw that backlund only has 8p in 16 games, i really expected more from him.
Its not like hes picking up second assists though. Also last time I checked he was playing with Germyn and Sutter? (can anyone confirm his linemates)
6 of his 8 points are goals, tying him with Jaffray for tops on the team.

I read from other board that Nemisz has been moved from first line RW to second line center and fans are saying that line (with the less lazier Wellwood and Austin Watson) is producing well. Windsor added another big piece to their puzzle today as Dale Mitchell returned from AHL. Mitchell is RW and could take Nemisz's regular spot from first line wing. Could it be permanent move in Windsor to keep Nemisz as center?
Good to see Keetley back healthy. Speaking of injuries anyone know what is up with John Amstrong? Hasn't played in a while. The heat website is useless and the AHL site doesn't seem to have any kind of injury reports. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. Really hope he didn't injure his shoulder again.
John Armstrong has had shoulder problems; the last game he played, he got into a fight with Christian Hansen. He has been out ever since with an 'upper body injury'
Lance Bouma with a goal in a Vancouver win yesterday against Ryan Howse's Bruins.

Heat fall to the Milwaukee Admirals 4-1. Carsen Germyn's shorthanded penalty shot was the only goal scored for Abbottsford.

I was at the Heat/Rivermen game tonight. It was complete domination on our part. Here are a few things I noticed.
I was very impressed with the play of Matt Pelech. I noticed a few times we were shorthanded and the Rivermen would make a nice play to a guy in front of the net and Pelech would calmly strip away the puck and clear. He was in two fights tonight too. He looks like he can be a good, tough, defensive defenceman on the next level.
Next was Jaffray. He had 2G and 1A tonight. I know technically he's not a prospect, he's a little older than the rest of our guys, but he's on the minor league team and spent some time with the Flames. He just seems to have a nose for the net. He impressed me with how he seemed to be in the right place in front of the net. Really, the Rivermen goaltender Bishop made a nice glove save on him toward the end of the 3rd or he would've had a hat trick.
Shantz made 27 saves and had a shutout. He seemed really poised all game. His rebound control was pretty good and he did a great job positioning himself. The only thing I noticed was he was a little slow recovering at times, but it didn't hurt them in the end.
Lastly, someone who didn't put up gaudy stats, but played a nice game was Brett Sutter. He ended up with 1A. He doesn't make the fancy play, but he makes the right play. He's a guy I would love to see in Calgary. He works hard every shift and doesn't make stupid turnovers. I was really impressed with his play.
Other notes: Colin Stuart, John Negrin, David Van der Gulik, and Pete Vandermeer also scored goals. Carsen Germyn finished with 2A. Backlund had an ok game, but didn't really do much to stand out. He finished with 1A.
