Someone forgot/dropped $180 at my work
Do I keep it? Should I hold it for the person and hope they come looking for it? When does it become okay to just assume that it is officially lost and found money and I can keep it?
Should I just donate it to a charity? Argh moral dilemma!

depends, IMO if it's just cash without any ID or evidence of who it belongs to you don't have much choice but to keep it
But if you can find out who it belongs to then you're morally obligated to return it

I think that you should hang on to it, and wait for them to come back. I know if i somehow lost $180 and thought I knew where it was I would be back.
If no one comes back within a couple of weeks though I would think its yours.

My advice would be to hang on to the cash and give said person some time to claim it. It may take him/her awhile to pin point where they might have lost it. That said if no one does claim it, donate the money to some charity.

Just send an email out to everyone at your work and say you found some cash, but don't say how much. If anyone can correctly identify the amount, then you can pretty safely assume it's legit. If not, you got yourself some spendin' loot.

If you like people where you work, then you should make some effort to find the person who lost it and make sure they get it back. Informing the HR manager that you found a sum of money and will return it if someone come to them to see if it was turned in(with proof, like I lost 180 bucks in 20's).
If you don't like the people where you work then don't put any effort into finding out who lost it, but if you do find out you still need to make sure they get it back.

That's Karma doing you a personal favor right there. Just make sure you take like $20 of it, treat a homeless guy to some coffee and a some food and you're good to go!

I am for sure keeping it up for grabs for the weekend. My manager said to keep it so I don't have to worry about that. I am keeping the money on me to make sure no one else takes it and have left a note saying it was lost and to call me if someone comes to claim it. To make sure it isn't a random joe they need to know when, how much, type of bills etc. I've fed all my coworkers false info simply because I do not trust them.
Whilst I feel Karma does owe me one for the past year I had, I am gonna try and make sure it gets back to the guy/girl.
