The weather, however, was miserable.

It was pretty intense. We were in, I think, 10 degree below weather doing this stuff over and over again
Intense......

It's almost as if people get used to the weather they're in and something new can be intense. How about that

-30 is miserable lol

"10 degree below" to an American actor working in Canada likely means fahrenheit, which is about minus 24 celsius...

I've lived here my whole life and don't like that, so I can imagine it would be pretty miserable to someone from California.

Yup, when he was back in LA, Jon Hamm also said he was less pleased about coming to Calgary in -10

https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/jon...er-1235792759/

Quote:
“Noah can really balance that tone of the dark, very violent, dramatic aspects of the show with the incredibly absurd comedic moments that also exist,” Hamm told Variety at the FX series premiere on Wednesday in Los Angeles. “I was less pleased about going to Calgary in -10 F weather.”

Gotta say, so far best winter ever!

We could probably use a bit more precipitation though.

On TWN:

"Much of Alberta at risk of a rare brown christmas"

This would be the best christmas present (no offense to snow lovers). Honestly could do without the scraping, shoveling, wetness and bitter cold for a change.

The problem is if we have a brown Christmas the ski hills will continue to be barren wastelands so that sucks. Plus we need precipitation badly. Bring on the snow!

Seems like a while since we have had a truly brown Christmas. Being totally honest, if winters were like this every year I would actually change my stance on hating Calgary weather. This was an awesome November. Spent way more time outside than I normally would this time of year.

Yip, I've said it before. It isn't Winter, it is the arrival and leaving of winter.

Often in Calgary it comes far too soon and stays far too long.

A Dec - early March is acceptable.

Agreed. If it was only a few flakes and sunshine and no colder than -10 at night until Jan/Feb every year I'd be a-ok with taking on a 3 month winter instead of one that engulfs most of fall too.

The clear skies and pink sun sets every other day have been pleasant too. Traditionally have seldom liked November but that's totally different this year.

Being warmer than usual is great, but we need precipitation. A brown Christmas is terrible not just on the recreational side but in general.

What a weird headline; I remember lots of brown Christmases... It felt like more brown ones than white ones in the '80s and '90s...

Between 1985 and 1995 there were 7 years with no snow. Between 2011 and 2021 there was 2. So lately it's been rarer to see a brown christmas.

If I recall in 2005 we were wearing shorts on Christmas.
