Oleg Yevenko said he got positive feedback from his tryout in Adirondack when he was playing for Belarus in the World Championships.

Not sure if he signs though.

Gotta say though, a Yevenko/Kanzig pairing would be fairly intimidating to play against.

6'7" 240 lbs
6'6" 245 lbs

Would definitely have to kill that with speed.

K
There are plenty of guys on here that intrigue me quite a bit.

Many people forget how inexperienced the Baby Flames were last year because some of these guys are older due to playing college before going pro.

Arnold was a rookie, and had a heck of a season before he had a serious injury. Really looking forward to seeing how he does with some experience under his belt.

Hathaway was also a rookie, and threw up 19 goals. That's nothing to sneeze at, and he has a lot intangibles going for him as well.

Agostino. Another rookie out of college. 12 points in his first 38 pro games. Then...31 points in the last 29 games. Yeah, looking forward to seeing what he can bring in season 2.

Wolf, first year in NA and he put up 20 goals....in just 59 games.

Then there is Poirier.

Four of the top five scorers were rookies. Plus Kulak and Culkin both produced 0.5 points per game as rookie Dmen, and Morrison came in at the end and put up 6 points in 10 games.

Add in Klimchuk, Carroll and hopefully "Big Rig" too, and I can't wait to follow this team next season.

A big thing to remember about all these players too, is they are all over 6 feet tall and 200 lbs plus. Most of them can skate well too. Plenty of NHLers coming up the pipe line IMO.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and Gillies too. Yeah, can't wait.

I agree. Sure, a lot of them, including Poirier, might top out as middle 6 / middle pairing at best but I don't see career AHLers in those guys. Maybe Caroll/Kanzig/Smith depending on skating.

I think letting the smaller D (Cundari / Acolatse) go should probably be exercised. I do want to bring in a good AHL-ready prospect backup for Gillies though, specifically Ken Appleby (NCAA Champ + CHL Champ tandem? Hells yeah!) Or Ryan Massa (watching this guy stand on his head against Gillies was awesome, but his team looked like the Flames in overtime in that last game against Anaheim.)

IMO Stockton will not start the season with a goalie tandem with 0 professional game experience combined.

Those guys might be good ECHL candidates though.

I look forward to Eakins whiny sound bites as he coaches regularly against our AHL affiliate.

I look forward to Emile Poirier's PPG jumping up significantly thanks to a new divisional rival.

Suddenly not quite as crowded on the Stockton blue line with Ramage and Acolatse not being qualified. Two right handed shots gone as well.

Would love to see them sign Fram now too.

I wish we signed fram and Bailey before their incredible seasons. Both looked good at development camp imo. Fram would be the icing on the defenseman cake this off season.

Curtis Gedig, who the Flames had signed to an AHL contract last season but spent the whole season with the Colorado Eagles has signed in Norway.

Igor Bobkov not qualified by Anaheim. Wouldn't mind him on an AHL deal. Huge goalie @ 6'5 235lbs, still 24. Bounced between the AHL and ECHL the last couple seasons.

Report out there 12 teams are interested in Richard Bachman.

Could see the Flames being one of them.

Bachman has been one of the top goalies in the AHL and also has NHL experience

Yeah, he'd be fine as #1a AHL goalie and a third for the Flames. At least until we see how Gillies reacts to the pro game.

Max Reinhart to the Preds. Grant signing makes even more sense now.
