Wild are likely thinking he is good for 25-30 goals a year, which seems like a pretty fair bet. Hopefully Bennett tracks similarly, but for this contract, Niederreiter's 3x $2.66mm is probably a decent comparable. Maybe closer to $2.5 for Bennett.

Not bad for a player who was labelled a bust after his first 2 NHL seasons, then being sent down to the AHL. He's a pretty good success story and the perfect example of why we preach patience with young players.

It feels like he's been around forever, but to sign a deal like that at age 24 after how his career started....good for him.
