I will never forget that image of him sitting on the bench in utter disbelief and disappointment. Every single one of us couldn't believe it. Felt so bad for the guy.

That was rough to watch. Just sitting there with his helmet on wondering wtf happened.

He must have nightmares of bundles of cash going through his pads and into a pit of darkness.

I was really excited last year when BT traded for him. I thought he would help us to the next level, he wasn't consistent and the playoffs really sealed his fate.

Best of luck to him.

Damn shame. Talented and a good guy. I think he might've flourished with our new improved D core. Think he's a better bet than Smith. He's in tough in Philly, that team is not good.

The goaltending stats in Philly thus far:

Elliott 5-3-1 .892-SV% 3.11-GAA
Neuvirth 2-3-0 .941-SV% 1.83-GAA

The #1 spot is eluding Elliott, yet again. His record is an anomaly, considering his stats.

Mike Smith has definitely surprised me. He is our MVP and it's not even close

Brian Elliott is wearing #37 this year. To this I say, "...in a row?"

Mike Smith is exactly what we had hoped Brian Elliott was going to be.

Meh I feel no joy in Elliott having another crap year. He’s a legitimately nice guy. He’s just not a very good goaltender at the moment.

The fact elliot has a winning record with less than 0.900 save percentage just tells me again that the Flames leave their goalie exposed too much - so they need a tender with a higher save percentage. Not going to win a championship playing this way.

You know how many goalies in the league have sub-.900 save percentages so far this season? Twenty-five.

You know how many of those 25 have winning records? One.

You know how many goalies had winning records with sub-.900 SV% last season? Three of 24 if you ignore OT losses (but count OT wins). If not, you're down to just one again – and that one was Eric Comrie, who only played one game.

The fact that Elliott has a winning record with a sub-.900 save percentage tells you nothing, except that statistical flukes happen with small sample sizes.

You can throw numbers at me all day, it won't change the fact the Flames leave their goalie exposed way too often to be championship team.

It's pretty much impossible for any team to win the cup with sub .900 goaltending since like 1980s...

Like if you took Team Canada and guaranteed that their goaltending would be less than .900, I'm not sure they would win the cup

That is not a fact. It's your opinion, and the numbers you used to try to support it (Elliott's save percentage and won-lost record) don't support anything.

As for ‘throwing numbers all day’: When I am not certain of a thing, I look up the facts. If the facts tell me I'm wrong, I change my mind. Evidently you don't. So much the worse for you.

So it's a fact we won't win the Stanley Cup this year?

Thanks better cut my sports channels and save some money.

If you are paying for cable because you think the Flames are winning the cup this year, than yes - you should cut your cable.
