Glad they are bringing this back. The 1990 made of TV thing was good at the time, but have you watched it recently? Outside of a few creepy scenes when they were kids, a lot of the movie doesn't hold up. The acting is pretty poor, the effects are amateur hour stuff. There's also a generation of people who have never heard of this story, so I'm all for this re-imagining. Getting the R-Rated treatment as well, so let's see what they can do.
From what I can gather, they're going to release IT in two parts. Will be a really tough sell for Part 2. The story as kids is fantastic stuff, but then gets just plain old silly when they fast forward.
Trailer does have me intrigued for Part One though.
That brought back some scary memories of my childhood, one of my favourite and most hated movies of all time.
Dat clown.

The trailer wasn't that bad aside from the film thing, that was goosebump inducing. This kinda movie is so much more interesting than insidious 6 or paranormal 12 though. Has 'classic' potential if they do it right.
That gave my goosebumps all the way to the top of my head.
Ba ha ha. Me too!
I don't generally get spooked by horror movies (or clowns) but that was really creepy. I didn't have any desire to see that movie before, and I don't now, but for a completely different reason. That bit with the kid looking for his boat down the sewer grate, you knew exactly what was going to happen and still, actual goosebumps.
If they give out Oscars for trailers (they don't), whoever put that together should get one.
From that trailer, looks like a pretty faithful adaptation of the book... I am excited - will have to wait for streaming though, as there is ZERO chance my wife watches that with me.
IT was the scariest book I read when I was a kid too - took me 2 or 3 attempts to get through the whole book.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was traumatized by that movie as a child. I saw it at a friend's house during a sleepover when I was 8 and she had clowns all over her room. Still not sure why her parents let us watch it.
