Considering that Ferguson said that in early 2009, before selling Ronaldo, his sale does skew the numbers in that particular case.

At the end of the day, nobody gives a crap how their team wins, as long as they win. Now to impatiently wait until Saturday to get this started so we can begin talking about actual matches.

What amuses me is that because Alex Ferguson asserted that Rafa at one point had spent 24 million pounds more than Ferguson over a 5 year span, some people (mostly United fans) believed it without researching it in any way.
I have looked at the numbers and understand the situation just fine. I still don't think the situation was as skewed as Liverpool supporters made it out to be (but I too am probably guilty of understating the impact).

In regards to Ferguson's assertion, I did look at the numbers and that is where I found the full spectrum of answers. The numbers and stats can be manipulated or reframed to show either position. On the other hand, I would imagine that Liverpool supporters took Rafa's great whinge at face value as well.

Lastly, if at all possible I would like to keep my discussion limited to what happens on the pitch.

Has anyone tried this?
http://www.premierleaguelive.tv/page...,13141,00.html

Is it just basically games shown on Sportsnet every weekend or is this a viable option to get almost every EPL game? Cheaper then Setanta plus VOD would be awesome so I am not stuck with rugby through the work week on Setanta.

^ I'm considering it, at least until Shaw offers Setanta in HD, simply out of principle. Oddly enough, Setanta referred me to that service instead of Setanta-i, which I assume is being sound down because of the new, full ownership of Setanta by Rogers.

The kicker would be that I'd need to be able to see all of the games, not just the ones that Sportsnet would be showing. I'm not sure if I'd be able to with that as they schedules don't seem to show all of the matches yet.

Setanta is advertising a free preview month starting tomorrow, but I have yet to receive confirmation from Shaw that they are participating. If they are, you may want to wait a month and then subscribe after the Setanta preview is done.

English radio is lighting up on a Fabregas deal being in basic agreement with Barca. Take it with a grain of salt because these rumors have been ongoing.

$29 mill euros fixed, $6 mill in add-ons (don't know what that is), $5 mill paid over a few years from Cesc himself. Sounds a little odd. I want to be patient but I feel like a top half finish on the premier league table is more realistic to cross my fingers over.

Rubbish. Arsenal are standing firm on the fee and payment structure, 40m up front or no deal.

I find it absolutely hilarious how the Barca players and great friends of Cesc are going ga-ga over him yet they would first see him pay his own fee rather than them throwing in some cash themselves. Such a loving familia eh?

Some of you may already have this site bookmarked: http://footballtvcanada.blogspot.com/

It gets updated pretty regularly, and shows the televised games, the network, etc.

Setanta hasn't confirmed their tape delay schedule for this weekend, and obviously the Spurs match won't be happening, so something else will get slotted into there I'd imagine (Norwich, perhaps ).

Shaw also hasn't indicated one way or the other whether they'll be participating in the Setanta free preview starting tomorrow (I erroneously said in an earlier post yesterday that it would be starting today).

You'll have to excuse my fixation on the television schedule - Norwich on TV is a rare novelty that I hope becomes more permanent, and I fully plan on making the most of it.
