Do you understand that players play to win? Have you ever competed at anything? Have you ever competed and not tried to win? It is impossible.

The Flames have been the 28th worst team since the trade deadline - does that really warrant complaining that they are winning meaningless games?

Some people just want to bitch about everything.

We are doing the most Flames thing possible, winning the last games of the year and ruining the draft pick. It is kind of funny, because of course this is what was going to happen!
“Winning these last few games”? They’ve won 3 of the last 12.

2 of the last 2, against loser teams that have already locked up their own destiny. Well, Anaheim, anyway. Arizona has now, thanks to this.

As Dino said, nothing has happened to this team since the Zadorov trade. Once you get eliminated from the playoffs, lose. Or go to Chuck E. Cheese and celebrate the Flames win if it makes you feel better about this spectacular competition we're seeing.

Who has out-tanked the Flames since the trade deadline?

Every team wins games. Every player tries to win every night. You are yelling at clouds.

Also, if you find yourself needing to say #### like the bolded, it's because you have nothing useful to say.

3 of the last 4.

I agree, overall we haven't won a lot lately. But it's just a bit disappointing to see us go on a win streak to end the year and ruin our draft pick.

Not unexpected though, it is the Flames way. Still can get a good player, but the lottery odds have gone down significantly. I would also feel much more confident when picking at 6 and having options, rather than get whoever is left at pick 11.

If we were a couple picks away from being a contender, people would be less upset. But as it stands, we have so many holes to fill, and need some elite level talent if we ever want to be a contender.

Things were going great until the Anaheim game. Now Arizona and Montreal are out of the picture. You'll be the one yelling at clouds when they pick your favorite prospect in June while you celebrate these meaningless games in April.

They won a 6-5 game where two goals were scored by their most notable 1st round picks.

Again, short of pulling the goalie, what do you want them to do?

Since the trade deadline, the Flames have a 6-12 record. 2 of those wins were against teams ahead of them in the standings (Vegas and LA), but 2 of the losses were against teams behind them in the standings (Anaheim and Chicago). So, their record is basically what it should be.

The only teams the Flames have more points than since the deadline are Anaheim, San Jose, and Columbus -- teams who were never going to catch the Flames anyway. They have an equal number of points as Seattle since the deadline and every single other team in the league has gained points on them.

At the deadline, the Flames were 19th overall, tied with Seattle and St. Louis, and ahead of New Jersey, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo.

Today, they are 24th overall, tied with Seattle. They were passed by all the other teams mentioned.

If you wanted them to tank, they have given you the tankiest tank you could have hoped for.

Explain how they could possibly have done more to lose those games? Anaheim was godawful, Arizona scored 5 goals.

Frankly they were lucky to be where they were. Other teams won games they should have lost.

The whining is embarrassingly naive.

Go to some other thread to promote whatever you like. The name of this thread is "[PGT] Flames 6 Arizona 5 - whine about the tank here"

Crazy game coming back from 2 goals down twice. Lots of positives with the young players doing well and Kadri looking like his contact will age like fine wine.

Not sure what team tank wants. The Flames played their backup goalie, gave Coronato and Zary more ice time than Mangiapane, and were generally loose defensively. Arizona is just a bad hockey team.

A win streak? Good lord. They beat two of the worst teams in the league and should have lost this game by all rights.

These people are going to cheer for us to catch up to New Jersey and Buffalo and pass them.
