Which was what was reported weeks ago by the media.

I was looking for the 'under contract' requirement for the exposed veteran players. That might make things interesting.

The NHL's expansion draft will occur over a two-day period -- June 20-21, 2017.

It is still unclear because they didn't clarify what 1st or 2nd year professional player means.

Still clear as mud in regards to where Gillies stands in all of this. Like does 1st and 2nd pro season equate to total games played? Because If I am not mistaken, Gillies should be walking into his third pro season bey the time the declarations need to be made if GP doesn't count and only the length of the contract.

Even if left unprotected I still think Gillies would likely be safe. Can't imagine him being the 3rd best unprotected tender in the entire league.

Most interesting to me: Foley telling @ESPN_Burnside that he already has resumes for GM job from 7 current asst GMs and 3-4 former GMs

Now this is an interesting twist:

Chris Johnston @reporterchris
The NHL expects to open a window where the Las Vegas team can make trades/transactions before expansion draft. That's never happened before.
