Yup. bang On
MacDonald was great. Iggy played well. This team needs to get tough in a hurry. The only defence man who can throw a hit is scratched yet again

Sorry, cant give Stajan the love when he is utterly outclassed in the faceoff circle like that. With the current roster he should be the best faceoff man on the team by a long shot and tonight he was terrible.
It wasnt just that he lost them, it was how clean he was getting beaten as well.

Flames were brutal on faceoffs again, winning only 35% of them. Pretty hard to generate any offense when you lose the puck almost every time its dropped.

Thanks for the write-up, good job as usual. Iginla played well, he was the best player on the ice by a long shot. I think T.J. Brodie is playing very well right now too.
There was a sequence in the latter half of the second period where I don't think the Flames made one tape to tape pass for about 4 straight minutes. The Kings made a breakout look so simple, effortlessly transferring the puck up the ice, while the Flames just could not do anything right for a long time.
I will repeat that Iginla deserved better this game and was doing all of the right things, still a lot of jam left in Iggy and I think he deserves some props because I do think he is playing hard, just not getting the results. I can't say the same thing for the rest of the team though.
Their confidence is very low right now, and they need a big game against a divisional opponent on Saturday. I think they will win a close one. But man on man three games in a row against stifling defensive teams, Coyotes, Kings, then Wild.

Yeap, almost every time it's dropped, or every time they attempted to pass it, or carry it, or cycle it, or enter the offensive zone with it, or every time they gave it to Glencross.
They lost the puck a lot in this game.

Don't the flames only have one legitimate centre? Makes sense why they suck in the dot.

I watched two hockey games last night.
The first, Geneseo vs Potsdam, DIII NCAA playoffs. Fast game, exciting, huge try from everyone. Happy crowd as Geneseo destroyed the opposition 9-0. They move on to Plattsburgh on Saturday and the team, mostly made-up of ex-Junior B players from places like Melfort and Trail and Buffalo and Racine are pumped as hell. The second game, from my couch, was boring, predictable and played by millionaires at half the pace and emotion. I turned the Flames off after two periods.
I am thankful right now that I have access to an alternative hockey fix.

This edition of the Flames does not match up well against defensive teams, especially ones that clog up the neutral zone. We look effective against teams like Detroit, Dallas, Edmonton or even San Jose which are teams that play a more offensive and wide open game. Unfortunately, most of the contenders play a more defensive minded game.

I may have put Tangs in as the goat as I thought he was the worst Flame on the ice but poor performances were many and Cammalleri was bad as well.

Agreed that we need to be tougher, but this team had already gotten soft by the time Darryl left. The departures of Phaneuf and Vandermeer really marked the end of the era when people were afraid to skate across the middle against us or go after our goalie. Whether it was due or age or just knowing that no one would have their back, Regehr and Sarich weren't as tough after that either.
I know Vandermeer wasn't all that popular when he was in Calgary, but no one would get away with getting close to Kipper without at least receiving a face wash when he was on the ice.

Flames are starting to handle the puck like a grenade again.
Early in the year crisp passes were common, last night even if the pass was right on the players tape they would bobble the pass.
This team loses all confidence so quickly, no mental toughness. It's weird how even Hudler looks to be losing his "Detroit" traits with every game that passes.

Who needs to blow it up?
At this rate we will:
1. Maintain same core
2. Draft Mackinnon
3. Profit???
