*Snicker* Yup. Though, I'm taking mine off because the car is going to be towed to a scrapyard, and I'm not sending good winters to the scrapyard while keeping useless summers. I'm putting the summers back on and have already sold the winters.

Is it wise to keep winter tires on for a trip through the Rockies in late May? We won't be going too far off the Icefields Parkway.

^ you know there is a high likelihood of snow between calgary and lake Louise. Everywhere else in the Rockies will be +30

Average high is plus 15, average low is plus 2. I'd say no however there is a risk of a may blizzard, but there is also a non zero risk of a June, July or August Blizzard. With it being generally warm during the day I'd say risk for day driving is almost zero and you can always pull over on a pull out if things get crazy at night.

Yeah, that sort of what I thought. Someone recommended keeping the winter tires on but I think the risk if very low. Our driving would be day time anyway with maybe an evening drive somewhere. I'll take the very small risk.

From my other post in the Auto thread: does anyone have any experience with Black Lion tires, particularly winter tires?
http://www.blackliontires.com/tires/W506.html
They're obviously super cheap and I can get a set for even cheaper so I'm wondering if they're at least passable. My Blizzaks are past their expiry date and I'm going to have to spend a bunch of car-related money this year as it is, so saving a few hundred bucks would be great if it's even a reasonable alternative.

Don't you dare! The moment people start putting on their summer tires we get a big snow dump.

I switched one vehicle to summers already, but if I didn't have another vehicle to use if/when it gets cold again I wouldn't bother yet

I generally switch my tires at Easter and then at Thanksgiving.

Taking the winters off this weekend, willing to bet the rain-snow forecast for Sunday is mainly a cold rain

I run wider, extreme performance summer tires and they kick up all the road gravel into the rocker panels so I like to put them on once road cleaning is well underway.

Is the paint on your Dodge Neon still in that good of condition to worry?

For anyone needing new winter tires, Canadian Tire has the Continental Winter Contact 20% off this week.
I have used them on my Acura TL after using Blizzacks and they are a vastly superior tire.

Should have bought actual Blizzaks and not Chinese knock-offs.
