Default Line brawl & Crazy Torts - Aftermath

Alright, think we need a thread to discuss possible repurcussions from all this fun

Torts with a fine and/or suspension for the locker room hallway meltdown?

Canucks fans on HF saying Hartley should be fined for the line brawl. Thoughts?

Here's the line brawl.

1:26 in Smid puts Bieska on his *ss.

My only question is if Hartley meant to start a linebrawl, why send out Smid-Butler? Wouldn't O'Brien make more sense than Smid?

Typical...

Tortorella did not have to put his heavies out either... If he iced his top line, I doubt Calgary's Beef would have jumped and pummeled them.

Hartley played it well. He's a total punk!

Monahan found time in between periods to pop a tweet off

Torts will be hearing from the NHL in a big way, dunno if he gets suspended (though likely at least a game or 2), but i do bet he sees a fine North of 50 grand.

Both teams will almost certainly be fined for that. As noted however, Tortorella didn't have to send his own heavies out. He's an utter hypocrite if he's mad at what happened. Especially after he kept running Sestito out to assault unwilling and defenceless opponents last week.

Tortorella will get an extra fine for trying to get at the Flames locker room.

If Brendan Shanahan had any guts, Kassian would be sitting at least one game for his antics as well. But that won't happen.

I'd say O'Brien in for Butler instead. Smid has thrown them multiple times before.

Westgarth at center is the one that really does Hartley in. Aside from that there was nothing wrong with them sending the 4th line out. Bieksa isn't any better by switching to center and ensuring the brawl would happen. The Canucks can't act like they're innocent when they willfully obliged. Throw the Sedins out and I bet nothing happens.

@TSNBobMcKenzie: So my guess is Torts is sure to be fined and more than likely suspended. No clue on $ amount/# of games. Just guessing, but #youcantdothat

Just watched this vid 5X.

IMO, the only fight we didn't win was Jones'. McGrattan and Westgarth fights were obvious. Smid came back after eating a big left and scored the knockdown.. Even Butler won vs Garrison. This fight was hard to see because it was always on the edge of the frame, but it looked like Butler landed the only good right in that grapplefest.

The repercussions to this game? The ice-bag industry gets a boost from the nucks.

Interesting..

@matthewiwanyk Don't see a lot of people mentioning Bieksa yapping with the Flames players outside the Flames dressing room.

Got to love the entertainment value of Torts if nothing else.

That said, has he really lost his marbles. The only way his reactions tonight would be warranted, would be if the Flames were the home team, Torts started the Sedin's and Hartley responded with his 4th line and they then forced the Sedin's and co. Into a line brawl.
