Awesome. The Helmsman from the Excelsior is the descendant of the Helmsman from the Red October. Its a family business.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I watched the JJ Abrams Star Trek, and the scene where Kirk gets a medal and command of the Enterprise was strangely heart breaking where Spock is standing alone looking down at the ceremony and he says

"Thrusters to full"

Considering that Shatner's only friend from the Star Trek series was Nimoy I'd argue that he's been feeling pretty alone for along time. The remaining members of Takei, Koening and Nichelle Nichols hate him with a passion and won't ever be his friends its a lesson of what happens when your not a great person.

Its sad that Shatner is missing the funeral due to a charity function in Florida, but part of me thinks he doesn't want to face his former cast members.

That bugged me. It's supposed to be a nostalgic line but I don't really remember clearly it being spoken in TOS. Sort of like how nobody actually ever says "Beam me up Scotty". Is my memory mistaken?

Just re-watched Wrath of Khan.
