"ride the smacktard train" - Classic.

I was at the game, in 224 as mentioned above, and actually thought it was pretty mellow. Maybe it was because the Flames had it in control for 2 periods?

Then in the third I look over and 2 canucks fans were being escorted out by the CPS. Was not surprised, just surprised it took that long.

I go to 1-2 Flames games as a fan per season at Rogers Arena and the worst I have ever dealt with was a drunk teenage female, taking my Flames hat and running away with it. I tracked her down, got it back and everything was good.

When I'm at games, sure, I get the odd comment here or there, I get some popcorn thrown at me, but it's all in good fun. I've never feared for my safety, I've never felt the need to never come back. Maybe it's the way I come across, but I've never had anyone mess with me in a serious way when wearing my Flames jersey around town.

I work and interact with Canuck fans all the time and for the most part, it's the same. The odd idiot here or there, but nothing malicious. I actually enjoy some of the banter and I like going back and forth in debate/fun ribbing.

Again, I can only speak to my personal experience. Some of the horror stories I have read in here sound awful, but I don't think it's fair to paint all Canuck fans with that brush and I get that impression when I read a lot of this thread.

I've got no reason to lie, I've got no reason to make things up. I'm not a Canuck fan, don't have a soft spot for them, far from it, but I'm not going to pile on when I don't think a lot of the criticism is fair.
Pretty sure you are detracting from the OP's intent for this thread.

Yeah.... Calgary, you stupid idiot. Won't be going back there anymore.
This is just ignorant. I live right next to the Pig and Duke and watch lots of hockey there, and yes there are always tables full of Canucks fans for Vancouver games. I have never seen any altercations or noticed any commotion about it. No one is being obnoxious. I was there during one of the playoff games last year and there were some obvious loud cheers and Louuuuu-ing, but nothing you wouldn't expect in a bar during a Flames playoff game.

It's a Canucks bar is because the owner of the bar is a big Canucks fan - the bar's hockey club is the Pig and Nuck club, they have giveaways for trips to see the Canucks in various cities, advertised in giant letting on the eight foot tall blackboard next to the bar. Why would you resent another team's fan base from having a friendly bar to go watch hockey in?

We've moved sections this year and while we had two Canucks fans behind us, they weren't bad until midway thru the third ,when the girl got obnoxious. It was pretty funny though, when during the last couple minutes of the third and the Flames were pushing hard, a Canuck player dove and blocked a shot, - she called him a "p###y" for "falling down" and then at the :30 mark she exclaimed "The Flames net is empty!!" - umm.... it had been empty for almost a minut and a half by then......

Lol wut

I'm not actively hanging out with Canucks fans when there's so many other places to go. Just because you haven't experienced ######ed fans there doesn't mean others haven't.

In case you haven't noticed, I don't owe that place anything. Not sure about you, though. I think you might be the owner, and you're butthurt about my story. Why go through a long winded post just to try and justify a Canucks' focused bar on a Calgary message board? I just simply won't go back there - place sucks.

Wow only took 6 posts to make a Riders fan comparison, I expected at least page 2... but no Calgary fans are all class.

Took my Uncle to a Flames vs. Rangers game a few years ago at the Dome, hes older, a little special. He was called on by two different groups of young Calgary fans, had a beer dumped on his jersey during the game and was the recipient of a lot of beaks containing swear words through out the game. I can handle good ole fashioned ribbing, but I can't take that kind of abuse.

I have had bad experiences with Canuck fans as well, but please don't pretend like our crap doesn't stink. I have seen examples of Flame fan behavior that will stand up to any Canuck fan abuse. The truth of it is, some fans will be the way they are regardless of which team they cheer for. You will always hear the loud ones, the obnoxious ones, but just because you don't notice the quiet respectful ones it doesn't mean they aren't there. Comon guys don't stereotype.

I was at last nights game and can confirm that 80 percent of Canuck fans are complete idiots who don't know the game and just make fools of themselves. I attended with a rare classy canucks fan who apparently always gets confronted when wearing his jersey because people assume he's a troll.

There were 4 obnoxious Canuck fans 10 rows behind us, (we were 3 rows behind the net). They were far drunker than anyone else in our section. When asked to be respectful and less obnoxious, this idiot replied "Is this a library?". A fight nearly broke out, it was a damn shame it didn't.

I'm just happy their team is on the decline. You can see they have a major lack of depth and have been making terrible trades the past 3 years. I see them doing what the flames were doing 5 years ago. Sacrificing their future chasing the cup.

Overall Canuck Fans are the least pleasant to deal with at a Flames game. Followed by Toronto fans.

I remember being a Flames game and some idiot Canucks fan had a Air-horn. Every Canucks goal he would turn around and blast the Air-horn straight into our faces a row behind him. He dropped numerous F-bomb's at a Dad who was there with his little girl and his Girlfriend had to constantly apologize for him.

I think it is likely the same 20-25 Canuck Fans that cause all the trouble at games.

Honestly, Oiler-Flames games are some of the most enjoyable as the rivalry is mostly friendly. I think that is because both teams Fans can take some friendly ribbing and also tend to make fun of their own team. Canuck fans that i know, or that i talk to at games, get Ultra-defensive as soon as you say something bad about the team. Even their broadcasters are ultra-defensive. It is really strange.

There were some Canuck fans in my section last night. They definitely cheered when their team scored, but none went too over the top or anything.

One of them got a little rowdy in the third period, but he shut up real fast after a nearby Flames fan retorted his jeering with "Guy's confused...he's wearing a scarf that says 'C of Red', a Flames hat, and a Canucks jersey!"

You should have reported that guy to security. CPS would have kicked his ass out of the building real fast.

We pretty much will not go to Van games for the last 3 years because of their fans. Only reason we were there is it was the home opener.
We have already sold all the Van games and yes to fellow Flames fans in a ticket draft.
Last night is a perfect example after the tying goal with 19 sec left.
We were being normal fans high fiving the other STH like always around us and this punk Van fan siting with his 2 buddies shoved me hard in the back to sit down.
There was no play going on as the goal was being reviewed.
I turned around and looked at this idiot and said it figures you would be wearing a Burrows jersey your both losers.
He went to shove me again as i assumed he would and i grabbed his hand and turned it the opposite way across my hip.
Security with Police talked to me and the moron and his friends in the hall way and the whiner said he broke my hand.
I simply told security i was just trying to prevent this goof from attacking me and grabbed his hand. I said the guy was angry the Flames tied the game and shoved me in the back for no real reason.
My Wife told my older sons when we got home they had a good laugh.
And this is why we won't go to Van games... 100% because of their idiot young fans and i can't stand them.

Far and away Vancouver has the most fans that will do the ol' stand up and turn around goal celebration. If I'm in another teams building and my team scores I'll stand up, clap, cheer with the person with me but I won't stand up, turn around, throw my arms up and egg everyone else on.

Total dbags.

This is the problem. People take it upon themselves to deal with these things.

I ask nicely once, then go to the ushers. It is there issue to address, and I have never had one have a problem dealing with a d-bag.

I find it is so much easier, just to drop trou, bend over and fire of a blue angel, it seems most appropiate.

In hindsight, yes that would have been the best course of action. In actuality I was hoping someone, other than myself, would give him a beat down.

It is a scientific fact that they are bad. Why are they bad?

As British Columbians they are geographically isolated from the rest of North America. They feel ignored. They have been a terrible franchise for most of their existence. Now that they finally have a good team they hunger for attention. They also abuse substances.

You cannot appreciate how unbearable they are until you've lived out there. You think its bad here but this is Canucks fans lite you get. Out on the coast its a totally different animal, so much more whinning, and crying and ######bagery and drunken losers and on and on and on.

Its funny the Rider fan comparison was made cause from my experiences (i.e. the Rider fans I know) a lot of them are Canuck fans too. And both franchises are pretty much total loser franchises to begin with, not a lot of accomplishment for so much annoyance from a fanbase. Steeler fans in the NFL are the most annoying but at least they have 6 rings to point to. The Canuck fans have riots and the Riders have Pilsner and 13 men. But we need them to exist because their misery is the stuff that brings tears of joy.
