Wow, that's a crap ton of work you did there Freeway. Thanks.

The AHL's daily playoff picture updates are actually pretty handy. They outline the entire tie-break procedure, which is wacky and convoluted.

I really want the Heat to play Charlotte as well. Not only do the Heat match up well with the Checkers but due to a scheduling conflict in Charlotte all the checkers first round home playoff games will be played in Raleigh. I would definitely be in attendence for those games.

Mrs. B and I decided to come out to the last game of the season today. Always when I come here I'm annoyed by how empty the AESC is, and today is no exception.

From the warmup it looks like irving in net with Glover backing him up. Reinhardt and Elson in the lineup as well.

In fact most of their top players are sitting today. Lots of Black Aces in.

Reinhardt scores his first pro goal after going to the net hard and banging in the rebound!

Irving has made a couple of Kipper-like saves early here to keep them in it.

great to see that Max instantly rocks it!

I gotta admit it, I haven't been that excited about a prospect group in years. Bärtschi, Reinhart and Ferland all turning pro at the same time makes for an interesting training camp and pre-season.

BTW Brady Lamb is a +3 so far. Not bad.

Damn, 3-3 now. Unleash Max again.

I really hope they give Reinhart #23 in camp next year. I would immediately go out and buy a retro in honour of both him and his dad.

Heat win 5-4 in OT. Sounds like Reinhart had a great first game -- First star of the game.

They will be playing Milwaukee in the first round.

Will be an interesting series. The Heat's record against Milwaukee this year is pretty bad, just one SO win in October:

Oct 21: MIL at ABB, 1-2 SO
Oct 22: MIL at ABB, 3-1
Nov 29: ABB at MIL, 3-8
Feb 24: ABB at MIL, 1-4

Such a fun game to watch! It was exciting even without our top 6 forwards and top 2 d-men!

The Good:

- Regardless of his SV% and GAA, Irving was a beast tonight! By my count, he made three Kipper-like saves - the most exciting being on a wide open net for the Marlie player and Irving stuck his stick out and absolutely robbed the guy. He was definitely the difference maker this game. The game would've been a 4-7 loss without him.
- Max Power was phenomenal this afternoon. Two goals, a plus-2, and 1st star. What a first game by him. The thing that sticks out most about Max is his poise with the puck. The guy is so calm and collected. Even when he scores a goal, he doesn't celebrate. Boy, am I excited about his future. Him and Jessiman just clicked today.
- Elson was good as well. He provided energy and physicality. It took a shift or two for him to get into it, but once he got used to an AHL game, he did quite well.
- Eddy played well as well. He even scored a goal. He basically played the same way as Elson, in fact I could barely tell their style of play apart. But you can see a higher level of maturity with Eddy.
- Tuzzolino was simply into this game all game. Before the opening faceoff he was getting the d-men pumped up on the bench. For only having one goal all season, he had two goals in this game by joining the rush. Both of his goals were carbon copies of eachother.
- Nemisz was very poised with the puck as well. It amazes me how much he's progressed in his ability to hold onto the puck and use his body to maintain control against defenders. He had a good game today.
- Jessiman played very well today. He really utilized his size and created turnover. He was directly responsible for both of Reinhart's goals.
- PL3 is such an a-hole haha. He got into a fight with Rosehill, which didn't turn out to be much, but after the fight was over he wouldn't stop chirping and face washing him. Rosehill got so pissed off that he through his helmet against the boards, slammed the penalty box gate, then tore his jersey off and went to the dressing room. Good ol' PL3 is such an underrated asset to this team.

The Bad:

- Carson didn't play very well at all. He just didn't seem concentrated on the game. He didn't put out a full effort trying to hold the puck in the offensive zone and was taken off the puck fairly easily in his own end and turned it over quite a bit.
- The PK was awful tonight giving up 3 goals on 7 chances. The Heat are the 2nd best PK team in the league, but they certainly didn't show it today.

Awesome game for all the fans that came out. BloodFetish was right, there were alot of empty seats, but by Heat standards, it was a decent sized crowd.

It's great to go into the playoffs on a winning note. I hate that they have to play Milwaukee in the first round, but I guess we'll see what happens. Ward has optioned to start the first two playoff games on the road. The first Heat playoff home game will be on April 25th.
