I wonder if I need to watch Iron Fist or can I skip it? I've seen the other ones.

You probably don't need to. I actually enjoyed it though. It's not the best of the series but I liked it more than Luke Cage.

I liked Luke Cage. It was a tad too long though.

I doubt you need to watch it, but its central villain, the hand, is the central villain for the Defenders. They do talk about the hand a little in DD season 2 as well. I liked Iron Fist. I found it a lot lighter and less bruting than the others, at least at first. It got darker as it went on. It was a good overall story, but poor execution and weak acting.

I watched the 3rd episode of Luke Cage last night and it was better than the first two episodes. He finally got around to really using his powers. I'll probably put it aside to watch the Defenders now though. I just want to see more super hero stuff in my comic book shows and less gangster/hip hop stuff.

Defenders was good-to-great. It benefited from being only eight episodes. Lots of fun moments with characters meeting each other for the first time, and bouncing off each other in new combinations, down to the supporting characters. Could've used more Misty and Colleen. Loved the music choices for two of the main fight scenes.

So Joss Whedon's ex wife wrote a post about how he was a ####ty husband and cheated on her during their marriage, and claims he's not the feminist we all thought he was. Now people are freaking out wanting his removal from JL and Batgirl, yet ANOTHER controversy for the DCEU. Of course this would happen after he jumped ship from the MCU to the DCEU, why am I not surprised. Counting down until we get clickbait about how awful Aquaman is and how an "insider" saw an early cut and in it Aquaman runs over your dog.... should arrive after JL clears 1 billion at the box office.

Why would I care what Joss Whedon's ex-wife says?

Was he abusive? Anything short of that and honestly I don't care.

His positive portrayals of females doesn't really require him to be a loyal husband. Not to mention the fact that even though cheating on your spouse isn't a nice thing to do, they've already been divorced for 5 years. Not only did this happen a long time ago but there's just not nearly enough information here to let this ruin his reputation.

By cheating on his wife, he both emotionally and mentally abused the poor woman. Have a heart for god sakes!

There is absolutely no way for us to definitively know that.

I'd need way more detail about their relationship to pass judgement enough to ruin his reputation and frankly I don't want to know that level of detail.

And why is it coming out now five years later?

More to the point; who cares? It doesn't change the strong female characters he's brought to his films and shows. Separate the artist from the art.

Totally agree, very well put!! WB declined to comment when asked if this would affect Batgirl or if Whedon will do press for JL.

It has nothing to do with just her being his ex-wife, remove the gender adn celbrity from it and its just one side of a story.

If it wasnt a celebrity's ex-wife this would just be random hearsay.

I would also be a pretty common story that also happens to be absolutely nobody else's business.

Even if it's true, who cares? His wife and family I'm sure, other than that it's no one's business. Cheating on his wife doesn't mean he is anti-feminist or hates women. Maybe he just hates her. Or maybe he just had some superbly attractive nerd girl show up to his hotel room at comic-con dressed in full Samus armour and his penis-brain exploded.

The point is, unless the dude is committing crimes, no one should know or care.
