[News] Flames 2015/2016 Opening Night Roster

Flames will start the season with 22 players on the roster.

As per Brad Treliving, #Flames will have 13 forwards, 6 defence, and three goalies to start the season. Smid, Brodie, and Colborne on IR.

They will if they need to, that spare spot lets them. But for now, this is so they can make roster moves with more freedom.

1 guy clears IR - no move needed
2nd guy clears IR - either Kulak or Raymond are demoted, or goalie decision made
3rd guy clears IR - one more of the moves above is made

This is all assuming no new injuries

Seems even less wise to subject any of our goaltenders to waivers or to get fleeced on a trade because you felt you had to rush things. Just going to have to deal with some risk for a little while.

They don't need to make a move though. They could just call up a defenceman right now if they wanted. They only have 22 players, they're allowed to have 23.
