Also worth noting, Monahan's sweatpants under shorts.

Great choice! Couldn't be happier with our leadership group going forward!

You can tell this isn't taking place in Edmonton because he's not also wearing nice shoes at the same time.

Maybe Lance's Mom will whip up a batch of her 'special' cookies too!

Much like Phaneuf in TO, we've needed a young guy in the locker room who isn't afraid to waltz in and change the setting on the toaster.

Considering I just had my Bouw turned into a Russell last month and paid extra to have them sew the A on (which they frankly botched; placement was too low and over to the side), I'm happy to hear this.

PS - Never order a jersey stitch job at Jersey City

I've had three jerseys done through Jersey City and they all turned out great.

Jersey City uses Great Plains which is the same place that the Fan Attic sends their jerseys to be crested. At least it used to be when I worked there.

They do a proper stitch job. I worked there for 2 years back in the day and didn't get a single complaint about cresting.

Monahan splits with Wideman until Wideman leaves
Russell gets signed long term and keeps his A
Giordano is here until he is done

Long term, Monahan is captain when Giordano hands it over/retires

Liking the leadership on this team!

The name bar I have no complaints. The A is just bizarre placement.

That's actually disappointing news about Great Plains, as after that experience (and frankly hearing people say here and there to not get stitching done at JC, including on this board), I drove all the way up to North Hill Centre to get my retro stitched at Fan Attic. Should be getting the call in a week or two.

Good to know I drove all that extra way to have it sent to the same place as if I just went to Southcentre Jersey City..)

Buy fake jerseys. Don't get them re-stitched.

Monahan is amazing and even the guys on TSN were gushing over him. He's the future leader of this team and he's gong to be one of the main reasons for our success.

Seems about time to start giving him some leadership responsibilities - Monahan has handled the transition to the NHL arguably better than anyone else in his draft class thus far, and seems to be an incredibly mature and level-headed player.

Also, Backlund wore the A now and then, did he not, as well as Stajan?

Russel and Wideman getting As just further solidifies their importance to the team both on the ice and in the room. I don't think either one of them are as replaceable as some may assume.

Well deserved. Congrats Mony! Sending in my jersey today to get the "A" placed on it

Ew. Unless your team wears black, I'm not a fan of the fake jersey route. I've seen some real ugly shades of red on obviously fake Flames jerseys in the past. Bouw was the first time I've ever done a re-stitch, just sucked having an otherwise nice jersey that was a punchline in this city, and thus unwearable. Add a current player in that same # becoming a local cult hero and the rest writes itself.

And good on Mony, he's had future captain written all over him since his rookie year.
