22 national games. How does that compare to last year?

I think it's a typo on the press release. Counting them in the schedule, you get to 36 national games, up from 32 last year.

Two thumbs up for Hrudey and Ball coming back.
Ball is some kind of colour guy and Hrudey is certainly a whirling dervish.

I know it's nitpicking but I wish they would air all the pre-season games. It would be nice to watch more of the prospects.

We'll get to watch the games somehow for sure. Even in that development camp a CPer recorded footage for us.

Didn't they stream them online last season for free? or am I thinking of something else?

Yeah, I think it should say 22 nationally on Sportsnet plus 13 on HNIC for a total of 35, not 22 total.
The Sportsnet site is showing 35 national games, with the game on Wednesday, January 13 against the Panthers being a regional game. The Flames site is showing that as a national game.

was going to ask if they were announced yet
cause they are showing all the Canucks pre-season games, but only list 2 Calgary and 1 Edmonton

Think they did, but the stream quality is not great and unpredictable for keeping the connection going. I too wish we could have every pre season game on TV.

And the Flames and Oilers games are the ones they play against the Canucks. So, that's the only reason we'll even get those.
I believe that last year they streamed all of the preseason home games with the scoreboard video feed and audio from the radio. We also got the TSN broadcast of the preseason game against the Jets during the Centre Ice free preview.

The Jan. 13 game is a national game because it's on SN1, it's just a typo on the SN site.

I like the consistency with 33 national games on Wed. Sat. and Sun. and with very few exceptions. There are only 2 games that break the rule, 1 Wed. game and 1 Sat. game that are regional. The rest of the games are regional on the other 4 days of the week except for 3 of those games which are national (1 on Tues. 1 on Thurs. and 1 on Friday).

Calgary Flames
36 national games and 46 regional games
This is an increase of four national games from last season.
15 Saturdays and 14 of them are national games (most to be on the CBC)
The regional game, Flames at Blues, is a matinee and it will be on Sportsnet West.
Nine Wednesdays and eight games nationally on Sportsnet or Sportsnet One
the one regional game, Jets at Flames, will be on Sportsnet West.
Seven Sundays, all of them to be on Sportsnet or Sportsnet One
The other seven national games:
five Thursday games, all on Sportsnet 360
one Friday games on Sportsnet One
one Tuesday game on Sportsnet 360
