Default NHL Network

Does anyone know what happened to the NHL Network? A couple of weeks ago NHLTV, channel 158 on Shaw, went off air. Seems strange with hockey season starting.

They shut down their Canadian channel at the end of August.

Essentially the NHL no longer saw the need for the Canadian NHL network with the Rogers TV deal.

"Bad news last week for about 20 staffers at NHL Network Canada. They were told that the league is closing Canadian operation Sept. 1.."

"When Rogers deal struck, NHL slid the 40 games NHL Network Canada carried to Rogers for 2014-15. That doomed the operation."
