Is it pretty safe to say most people are on the train to Smashville, regardless of who they're playing?

Hopefully it's against Pittsburgh though. For one, it would be an even better story for the Preds to beat the defending champs, but also I don't want to see Ottawa rewarded for their ridiculous 0-5 trap.

Edit: Also, Burrows.

I'm not sure I understand these "Next round: Team X vs winner of Team Y and Team Z" threads. Is it just to be first?

How is it any different than "Stanley Cup Final: Nashville/Anaheim vs Ottawa/Pittsburgh"?

I kinda wanted to chat about the final. We know Nashville's in it, and that's the team I'm cheering for regardless of the other series, so why wait? We can't talk about how the Preds have demolished their first three opponents and are now resting up for the Final, just because we don't know who they're playing yet?

This lull before we know who they're playing is the perfect time to discuss how great of a story it is for Nashville to be where they are right now.

Quote:
The organization has worked hard on and off the ice to build the buzz, and the Nashville/Middle Tennessee market has gone Predators-crazy. This season has been completely sold out, and national analysts are hailing Bridgestone Arena as the loudest venue in the NHL.

The Predators' presence and success has fueled a boom in youth hockey leagues, high school hockey and adult leagues in Middle Tennessee. More ice arenas are being built to meet the demand.

Preds stars such as potential playoff MVP-to-be goalie Pekka Rinne, all-star defensemen P.K. Subban and Roman Josi and top goal scorer Filip Forsberg are now household names in a city accustomed to worshipping Eddie George, Steve McNair, Jevon Kearse, Marcus Mariota and other Titan greats past and present.

If theres anything I've learned during this year's playoffs its that Roman Josi is amazing.

Also, I can't remember the last time I saw "Big Air" McNair's name in an article, so there's that too. Lots of story lines while we wait.

Three two day breaks in one series is ridiculous. Stanley Cup should not be awarded in mid June.

Although, at least it will still be snowing when it happens.

Actually 4 two day breaks.

Personally, I would prefer a 76 game regular season when the league is 32 teams.

Why? I would prefer if they played hockey all year. The off season sucks.

I just think the season is too long for the players. I would be okay with even less than 76 regular season games, but 76 works out for a 32 team league.

Maybe the quality of play would be better bang for the buck.

I guess I am dreaming, just like I dream for better officiating.

The length of the season is fine but 4 two day breaks in the finals is ridiculous.
