“Miracle” is a bit much… they are 1 point out…

Sure they have a couple games in hand. But those fighting for those two wildcard spots aren’t exactly locks. I also think it’s unlikely, but I don’t see how it’ll be a major shocker if they make the playoffs in the 7 or 8 seed.

It would be quite the end to the season if the Flames' own 1st round pick is the latest of the three or four they have this year.

Flames take down Vancouver, Dallas or Winnipeg

Flames lose to Colorado or Edmonton

Maybe the Oilers.

They have 42.5% record against playoff teams, and an 84% record against non-playoff teams. They feast on bad teams and aren't as good as their record shows.

No doubt. If the Flames could figure out a way to solve that Chicago puzzle they'd be in a playoff spot right now.

I don't want to jinx it because COL was supposed to be the ideal playoff opponent. Then DAL was supposed to be a pretty favorable matchup, finally the Oilers looked like an easy series with M. Smith in net, and a team that mostly relied on the PP.

A lot of people preferred the Dallas match-up to Nashville in 2022, but I wasn't buying it. Nashville was backing into the playoffs while Dallas was going in hot over the 2nd half of the season.
