Ideal 2024 playoff opponent?
With the possibility that Kuzmenko turns his game around immediately in Calgary and has chemistry with Huby, the flames perhaps made an amazing trade. They just swapped an underperforming Lindholm and fourth line quality Huby for two first line players: Kuzy and an vintage Huby. That's enough to potentially turn the season around IMO.
Assuming the flames get the 8th seed, what team do you think they match up best and worst against? Who would you like to see?
I think they match up best against Vancouver, who is also who I'd want to play from a rivalry perspective. It's a winnable match up, has an interesting story line given the trades this season, and it's my favorite rivalry for the flames. Imagine getting two prospects, multiple picks and then still knocking them out in the playoffs. It would be glorious!!!

Anybody would be an ideal first round opponent. Will be a freaking miracle if flames make playoffs.

Canucks are ripe for an upset.
Lindholm and Zadorov were part of the rotten core. Now they're with the enemy!

Whoa. This feels like bad mojo. Let's not be getting ahead of ourselves here.

We'll see who is left after the trade deadline, but the team is enjoyable right now.

Any playoff team is beatable for us. The only teams that scare me are the ones at the bottom of the league.

The easy answer should be Vancouver, since we seem to be good at beating them in the first round. But I’m gonna go with Edmonton even though it’s statistically unlikely. If we slay that dragon, it’s all the way to the cup final baby.

Anyone. If the Flames make the playoffs, anything that happens after that is gravy anyway, so it doesn't matter who we face.

So, it would benefit both cities.
