Default May 1, just one playoff game.

The Monday night game is a big solo game as the Capitals could be pushed to the brink of elimination. They have to do this on the road and Holtby has to be stellar in net as the Penguins "smell blood."

Yikes, Niskanen with a nasty crosscheck to Crosby's head on a scoring opportunity.

Crosby really slow to get up and is taken to the room.

Niskanen gets 5 and a game.

Crosby looks concussed.

Looked accidental by Niskanen but I guess you need to be in control of your stick.

I don't think it looked malicious, unfortunate play Crosby was falling down as Niskanen hit him. If he's standing he probably doesn't get cross checked in the head.

Hopefully Sid is okay.

Would like to see some more replays, didn't look very malicious by Niskanen. It's definitely worthy of a penalty, but I doubt it's even 2 minutes if not a super star laying on the ice*.

*based on seeing 2 poor angle replays.

I agree. Looked like a bang bang play and Niskanen was caught off guard that he was on his knees.

It looked like a reactionary move by Niskanen to defend himself while Crosby was falling into him. I believe it would have only been 2 minutes but the injury makes it an automatic 5.

Hopefully Sid is okay.

It looked more also like his leg got gimped as he was falling to the ice going one way then the other followed both the cross check to the head. Pens need him as does the league.

BS. He isn't fooling anyone with that"looking away" trick. Followed thru right to his Dome

Definitely interference, NHL actually made a call against the pens which is even more surprising.

Wow, how was that a goal? What BS! That was about as obvious interference as there can be.

Edit: Washington is successful with the challenge. Not sure why it was allowed to go that far though. The reffing and replay system is a joke.

Why did trotz even need to use his challenge on that? If the ref on the ice rules goaltender interference on the replay, why can't they just come to that decision on their own?

I don't understand how that happened. Call it a goal after review, then 2 minutes later call it interference after a coaches challenge.

Are they talking to the same people each time?

The first review was to see if the net was knocked off its moorings before the puck crossed the goal line.
