My nexus expired early this year and I had done the renewal online, but I just recently realized I never received the updated card. I'm guessing reporting a lost card is not going to be a fun experience.

I’m actually curious if they send a new one at all. I wonder if they let me roll with my existing card. When I first applied for renewal it said my current card is good for another 2 years or something while they process my renewal.

They mentioned I was to receive the new one and it needed to be activated online. Which means I'm guessing the old one is kaput.
edit: Went through the lost card process on the TTP site, looks like for $25 they'll just send another. Will see what happens, if it just activates fine once I get it.

Yeah, I just got that message since I applied for renewal a couple days ago.
My current card expires October 2022, once I applied the message for the 24 month extension with the current card came up.
This is my second renewal, my first renewal didn't require an interview and they just sent me a new card, this one looks like there will be an interview.

How long does a Nexus card last? I used to have airport security clearance, which isn't as good, but was good enough that I never bothered with Nexus. Now that I don't have that anymore, I'd be interested in getting Nexus, but don't want to get it if it will expire before I start travelling again.

Following up to this. Got the replacement yesterday, so about 2.5 weeks. Activate it online and good to go. Expiration date still maintained from existing renewal date.

I have just got my approval letter back but it does say that I am having to book an interview in the letter. I did not have to interview on my first renewal.

For new applications, as a data point I put in my documentation on November 18 and received notification last week that I am conditionally approved pending my interview. Who knows when that can be booked.

mine has been expired and pre-approved to renew, but I cannot book an appointment. the expiry has been extended like two years but I think that is coming up. anybody else in this situation?

You can check by logging into the TTP site, then under Program Memberships, it'll show current status and options like Replace Card or Add Vehicle. If you don't see an option to Activate Card, then you are good to go.

Hmm now that's interesting.
I by accident let my Nexus lapse and then filed a renewal application and it's still pending conditional approval, it's been almost 10 months.
Given what you just said it sounds like I'd be better off just filing a brand net new application :/.

Did you contact them? They mailed my first one to the wrong address due to a system glitch and were very easy to deal with.
The next one came via courier and I got it in two days.

When I contacted them a couple of months ago they basically told me to pound sand and that "it takes as long as it takes" and they had no way of checking anything further on their end.
The only thing I could have (and I guess I still could do) is start a brand new application. In this case, I did a 'renewal application' of an already expired card that I let lapse, not sure if that would help? Sounds like in your case you did the same thing i.e. a brand new application?
