Too bad it's a sweep. Would be funny if Panthers fans were chanting we want Toronto at their deciding game.

The Lightning will be an interesting off-season story. They kind of need to re-sign Stamkos but they are declining with him and his best years are no longer ahead of him.

That was my only complaint tonight. Not one infraction for Tampa? (coincidental minors don't count).

Considering one of the penalties was Forsling slightly bumping into a guy in the slot and him falling down because his teammate also bumped into him and took out his legs. It was obvious how much they were trying to give Tampa an edge by granting a few powerplays early on.

Good on the Panthers for sticking to their game plan, playing strong defense, checking hard, and capitalizing on their opportunities when they came. Just no panic in them at any point.

The only question now is if this goes 4 or 5 games. I can't see it going longer than that. Tampa Bay looks dejected. Kucherov in particular looks lost out there. That's hard to do, but you have to give credit to the Panthers for checking him so closely. He's clearly frustrated.

He was absolutely terrible on the powerplay before Cirelli scored. I’ve never seen him like that.

Yeah, you're right. I was surprised they didn't give Florida any calls.

Agree with your whole post.

Yeah that was total bs. It's this Luxmore guy who always hates the Panthers.

Also Montour loves Nick "Chezky" (?) Cousins:

No thank you. Do not want.

I'm also glad that NYR and CAR will be beating up on each other in the next round. BOS, NYR and CAR are the three teams that scare me the most.

We're at 6-0 for PPs now, in favour of TBL, over the last 3.5 periods of hockey.

Lol, 10 Sportsnet channels and they can’t put the Florida-Tampa game on because Carolina-NYI is going to double overtime.

Panthers just not very sharp to start this one. They've been the dominant 1st period team in every game, but just haven't brought the energy or effort yet. Sloppy coverage leads to a SH goal. Down 2-0.

But, there's a lot of game left to play. I'd like to see them respond.

I'll say this much. Barkov has really become a much better leader this playoffs. He's playing physical, making strong bodychecks, battling hard for every puck, using his skill to get around guys instead of making the easy pass, and initiating scrums...as we just saw.

It's much different than previous years, where he would often be considered for the Lady Byng based on his playoff performance alone. It's good to see.

Oof...Bob with a rare overcommitment, losing his net for an easy wraparound goal for Point.

Maybe this just isn't their day?

From things I've read/watched, I get the sense that he and Chucky have become really good friends. Makes sense that a lot of that stuff has been rubbing off on Barky.

Barchuckov good.

Panthers can't let Tampa get their swagger back. If Tampa wins tonight, I predict they win game 5 and then who knows what happens with game 6 in Tampa. They also have Florida's number in the playoffs so if it's 3-3 going back to Florida...
