Brad Richards will receive 53 mil of 60 mil of original deal.

That's great for Richards. I doubt that we would have bought him out. We'd probably be living with that mistake.

Rangers had all that money sunk into scoring goals but they were heavily outshot in the stanley cup finals.....

I'm just thinking out loud here. Would there be any fit for Brad say as our bottom line center. We don't really have anyone to fill out our bottom line.

Brad Richards isn't coming to a non-playoff team to play 4th line minutes.

No way. If he reportedly didnt like the travel in Dallas, he isnt going to like it any better here. I know he won (stole) a cup, but he doesnt have that winner mentality (IMO), I want people on this team who want to be here and try to win - not just collect a paycheck

Was this near miss another nail in Feaster's coffin for Burke?

Better to keep those thoughts to yourself

I'm sure it was one of many but probably lower on the list of poor decisions.

If Richards was smart, he would sign a very cap friendly contract with a contender that needs a top 6 center like St. Louis or Anaheim.

Feaster was gone period, nails or not.
In win now mode, Richards made sense sort of, glad it didn't happen.
Burke has had a few near misses in his career too, they all do.

Would be pretty hypocritical since Burke was one of those lined up on July 1st outside Richard's agent's office ready to make a pitch.

Lol. Come to a bottom 5 team in the league who plays in the travel heavy west where it snows 8 months a year, you pay more taxes, and take 4th line minutes. Sounds like a dream situation.

In win now mode Richards might sorta make sense except we were nowhere near win now competitive and he couldn't see that. In terms of the business of the game I'm sure he ran things decent. In terms of actually knowing the game he was terrible.

Who, Edwards could not see that or Ken King. Feaster was a pawn, told them what they wanted to hear just to keep his job. We know Iginla was in win mode now.

This impacts the Flames as it gives room for the Rangers to sign Brian Boyle.
