Recommend a good Audiologist / ENT Doctor

Looking for a referral to a good audiologist in Calgary or area. I've had bad vertigo which is slowly clearing up and have a referral to someone who can do some treatments for that now that I am mobile enough, but have developed some new symptoms as well (fullness in ears, increased tinnitus, diplacusis which is pitch difference between ears), so would like to talk to or see someone.

My family doctor referred me to Dr Jason Chau; he is in the SW by MRU. My family Doc said he is the best in the city. I don't know if that's true or not.

Yeah no kidding. Might not even be an audiologist I want, sounds like they're more focused on pure hearing where maybe it's an ENT doctor I want.

Part of my consult with Dr Chau included tests with an audiologist anyway (same day/same office/same appointment).

ENT Dr. Paul Marck in SE Calgary is very good.

Double down on Dr Chau! Fixed up my eardrum quite well

Bump! What are wait times like?

I've acquired tinnitus, and it sucks. I've had pervasive sinus issues for YEARS and got a referal to an ENT for this, and I'll be raising the issue of the tinnitus as well.

I had an appointment with an Allergist to get allergy tests done January 29th, and at that appointment the Allergist told me they can refer me to and ENT for my sinuses (they mentioned that referrals are quicker if it comes from an allergy clinic, no idea if thats true)

I have my appointment with the ENT on March 20th, so, less than two months for me, though my family doctor warned me it could be over a year at the beginning of this process.

There's two Dr Chau's that are ENT's and they are brothers haha. Mine is Dr. Justin Chau. He is incredible so either Dr. Chau is recommended!

Neurovestibular Clinic at South Health Campus

I went to this for a consult at one point, they seemed knowledgeable. Ultimately I was told I had benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).

But it usually doesn't take years to recover from that, and it took me years. In fact I still wouldn't say I'm 100% recovered, like 99.5% but I still get small moments of feeling unbalanced or lack of sync between brain/eyes/ears. It's just a permanent feature of life now.

I did quite a bit of physio to recover and both physiotherapists thought how I recovered was more like nerve damage than BPPV. But I do remember them doing an MRI or whatever on my head and not finding any damage.

I did go to an audiologist but ended up just going to some random one and they didn't have much to say about the diplacusis and other symptoms.

The diplacusis and other symptoms did clear up by themselves eventually as well. Though I still do seem to be more sensitive to things having to be in tune.. like if a piano isn't in perfect tune it really bugs me even more than it used to.

There's also a hearing specialist that advertises on Barn Burner. I hear it so often, but funny enough, don't remember the name.

My doc referred me to Soundwave Hearing in Kensington. Very nice people there. I’m now waiting to see the ENT (Huang). I just got the call this week that my appointment is in June. Start the process now as it might be a while.

Looks like I may be going down this route. I've had exercised-induced light-headedness for about two years now and have gone through extensive testing with a cardiologist which has come back normal. The cardiologist said an ENT is likely the next route for testing but my GP will be directing that at my upcoming appointment with him.
