Patrick would be a great addition - dude has high end skill and is tough. Don't have to worry about the hand slashes, as he would just turn around and punch whomever slashed him like that in the face.

I've been watching some shift-by-shift videos lately, getting hyped for this draft even though I don't think I should get too excited about the top 10. :P

Hischier is amazing and I think he will be a strong contender to displace Patrick and go first, depending on how the u20's go.

Liljegren is Kylington 2.0, which is a good thing and a bad thing. Very solid, good skating, good puck-handling, great breakouts, but he likes to force fancy plays when a safe play would work just as well. Like Kylington he will be a very good player, but he will need a coach that will trust him to take risks and not staple him to the bench when they go bad.

Vilardi seems pretty good, I was really impressed with how he was able to be in all the right spots despite being a bad skater even by OHL standards. I think he's a little bigger than he's listed at as well, he looks almost as big as Logan Brown out there.

That would mean winning something....

As a Canucks fan we might as well avoid looking at rankings 1-3. 4Th is best case scenario

Higher on Patrick than most though ive seen people say he wojld have been clear cut number 3 this year and does project as a top ene 1C

The Las Vegas franchise will be given the same odds in the 2017 NHL Draft Lottery as the team finishing with the third-fewest points during the 2016-17 regular season.

The Las Vegas franchise's First Round selection in the 2017 NHL Draft will be determined in accordance with the 2017 NHL Draft Lottery and, as a result, the Las Vegas franchise will be guaranteed no lower than the sixth overall selection.

The Las Vegas franchise then will select third in each subsequent round of the 2017 NHL Draft (subject to trades and other potential player transactions).

You must be thinking of the lesser known, fringe Patrick your GM will give up a 2nd to acquire thinking it's Nolan.

Valardi, Patrick, and Liljegren would all be sweet. Really hope Chad Johnson doesn't screw up our chances at them where we end up with some Baertschi type prospect.

Yes, Chad Johnson having a great season and establishing himself as a starter would be teeeeeeeerrible. We can only hope he quickly falls on his face and we get locked down in the basement.

I hope Chad Johnson establishes himself as a legit starter, and I hope the Flames group of 18 skaters every night play to win the game. I just hope Johnson doesn't single-handedly screw up our draft odds while our team gets horribly outplayed every night. You know, like Miller and Markstrom did last year, and Schneider the year before. These three kids would go very far for us, a few 1-0 Pat Sieloff/Brandon Bollig wins where the team looks like ****, won't.

The Flames are making the playoffs anyways. I want to get hyped about these guys but it will only cause me great pain when Edmonton has their pick of the litter again.

Miller and Markstrom were decidingly average last year at best. 0.915 save percentage puts them 25th in the league of goalies with 30+ games.

Schneider was great the year before...in New Jersey...where he has been for 4 seasons now...

The Flames were somehow gifted the chance to draft Sean Monahan, Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk because a few teams ahead of them made certain decisions, I really don't think we are in a spot to complain about draft spots ... it's not like the Flames have been terribly unlucky all things considered, although Laine would have been nice obviously. But Tkachuk is awesome too.

by the way, I really can't be mad at a guy like Pat Sieloff, who probably scored the lone goal of his NHL career in that game.

Craig Button's November list is out. No surprise at 1-2, but Tolvanen at #3 seems really high to me. Elias Pettersson is one guy I think is way too low on this list.

yeah um with Johnson net all last year stealing games we are drafting 12th/13th/14th OA which was Michael McLeod/Charlie McAvoy/Jake Bean which is a far cry from Matthew Tkachuk whom tank commander Hiller barely got us to. But keep pretending to be clever.

I like Tkachuk, but you have to love Laine right now. The guy will be the next Iginla. So yeah, those Bollig wins hurt when you see the opportunity cost pan out.
