Is there somewhere that shows the full content on the streaming service?

FYI if you have a Visio TV just change the country to USA and the prime app shows up and works.

I signed up for the free trial. Unless there is some way of getting the US content, there appears to be little value. I tried a few free VPNs and had no luck with getting around the geo-blocking for Amazon.com.

Why would they launch a service yet still won't sell their hardware that works best for it in Canada?

Android app is live in Canada now. Love the service. Had Prime already since it was already good value but now that I can watch The Man in the High Castle as well it's even better. Well done Amazon

Just mobile apps right now, correct?

Might pick up a Roku if/when it makes its way there.

Default Amazon Prime Video Canada (launch expected Dec 1)

I feel like I am missing something because everybody seems particularly hyped about this. Is there more to the streaming service content library? It seemed pretty limited when I looked for tv shows. What else was there besides the Amazon original content?

I had a closer look at the content, and it is pretty poor to be honest.

The two things that still excite me are:

- The Grand Tour
- The potential that they'll pick up the rights to additional content now that they've launched, particularly after the Shomi shutdown.

On its own, definitely not worth the $7/month, but combined with the other main benefit of Prime (free/faster shipping), not a bad little benefit. The Grand Tour is worth the first couple of months cost for me, easily. After that, we'll see.

But I've sure been ordering Christmas items and other knick-knacks like a banshee with Prime while I try and justify my trial.

American Amazon Prime is better. Last week when the Canada version was not live, I VPN'd to the US version with my Canadian Prime account and I found a little more stuff.

And web browser.

If you have an Apple TV, you can use AirPlay from your iPhone or iPad.

Did they get around the VPN? I used a free PPTP one and confirmed I was on a US domain, but still got geo block errors when I tried to watch an episode of Mr. Robot.

I bought Amazon firesticks previously, and have been running Kodi on them. Small, great WiFi, Apple TV like remote. A bit underpowered, but for $40US they are hard to beat (if you are ever in the US). Stupid they still aren't available in Canada. The fire tv console is supposed to be really good.

So, Man in the High Castle season 2 was released yesterday in the US and isn't available in Canada.

I don't get it... I'll just torrent it. I guess they're still getting my money but com'on.

I accidentally set my Xbox One's location to US and was able to install the Amazon Video app. But when I switched it to Canada I couldn't play anything.

They've really screwed up this rollout, but I'm hoping it'll get sorted out soon.

For anyone wanting to watch Prime Video on your PS3, I discovered that it is possible, even though there isn't an app for Canada.

I have a second Playstation Network account that I created a while back to watch UK television. To actually watch shows on most of the apps (BBC, for example), you will need some DNS or VPN trickery that shan't be discussed here. But to set up a UK PSN account and download the Amazon app, you don't need any of that. Just set up a second profile on your PS3, create a new PSN account, find yourself a random UK business address on Google Maps, and you'll see some different options under "video services". BBC and others, obviously, you won't be able to use. But Amazon can be downloaded and used with your Canadian Amazon account details.

The best part is, once you've downloaded and installed the Amazon app on your new UK profile, it will persist when you switch back to your primary PS3 profile. It will be permanently listed under "video" on your PS3, just like Netflix.

The video quality was quite good in HD, although I did find that it was slower to reach full quality than Netflix. Otherwise, it is a decent enough addition to the PS3. I'm not sure when/if it will be officially released on the PS3 in Canada, or if it ever will be, as the PS3 is probably not on Sony's radar anymore.

So there is an App already loaded on my TV (LG 60UH7700) in the LG WebOS 3.0 store. No tweaking required, though I do have a US-origin TV (ordered from B&H in NY) so maybe that's part of it, can't confirm as the localization is set to Canada.

Pretty impressed. I'd say the 4K HDR/Dolby Vision content just slightly edges out the video quality Netflix offers on similar content (better color gamut IMO), and the 5.1 surround is very nice. It does transmit in HDR10 which is great, and many shows (Grand Tour being notable) work excellent out of the box.

Pretty sparse, but the original content is quite nice since I have Prime anyway.

I have a new 4K TV that I bought in Canada, and it has a built in Amazon Prime app... works fine.
