Default FC's Final (top-100) ranking for 2015 Draft

Our final ranking for the 2015 NHL Draft is now out, and features a top-100 ranking for free live on our website. No surprise, Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel are 1-2.

The top-100 should offer up some more names for the Flames, with six picks in the first three rounds.

http://futureconsiderations.ca/fc-re...or-2015-draft/

Our full top-211 can be found in the 2015 NHL Draft Guide, which also features full profiles and scouting reports on each. CP discount, of course, available.

I hope the Flames can get two of Vande Sompel, Lauzon and Spencer in the second round. All of them are very good. VS is probably the fastest D-man in the draft and is good in the same manner than Krug and Vatanen are. If he was 6-1, he'd probably be in the top 12.

If the Flames got Beauvillier MVS and Spencer with the 2nd round picks, I would be over the moon.

Ryan Pilon at 70? I wonder what happened to him? There was talk he could be taken in the late first round, and he seems to have dropped considerably.

I personally still hope the Flames take him.

Filip Ahl might be an interesting pick at 53 (don't think he'll reach 75).

6-4 215 lb LW/RW that is an excellent playmaker and is huge and competitive. Only drawback is that he only has average speed.

His father has the best goalie name. Boo Ahl.

Pavel Zacha at 15 - I know that no one is looking for another C, but I am intrigued by this kid. Don't know why but I have had a feeling for a while that he might be our pick.

Can never have too many C's IMO

I'd be fine with the Flames entire forward group being made up of C's

Just look at Team Canada at any international hockey event. Centers all over the line up.

I know everyone will #### a brick if we do, especially since we drafted Mason MacDonald last year... but I'm a huge Mackenzie Blackwood fan. Hopefully the run on goalies happen later rather then sooner and we get him with our last 2nd or a 3rd.

The amount of blueliners available is amazing though. I dream of Kyle Connor dropping to us at 15 and going on a run of defence in the 2nd.

Erik Foley in the 3rd?

Being a shoot first player and potentially an elite goal scorer he might be better off playing wing anyways. I like him too.

I don't know anything about Blackwood but I'm in favour of taking a goalie but in the third round or later, just to keep the pipeline going.

When it comes to goalies I like the idea of taking one every second year on average. I really like Mckenzie though, I'd use a 3rd on him for sure, and wouldn't be against a 2nd rounder.

I don't like how Zacha's agent handled the CHL import draft. I know that seems silly, but Alan Walsh is loud mouth blowhard and I am hesitant to have any of his clients on the Flames.

no.

Basically he tried to manipulate the 2014 CHL import draft, failed, and then lashed out.

Sarnia had the 1st overall pick in the CHL import draft. Quebec Remparts had acquired the 2nd overall pick in the CHL import draft and was the host of the upcoming Memorial Cup, meaning any player picked by them would have a guaranteed spot in the Memorial Cup and a guaranteed opportunity to impress in the draft rankings by dominating the tournament. Quebec was also amassing a lot of talent for the Memorial Cup, which meant they were likely going to go deep in the QMJHL playoffs. Sarnia in comparison was a rebuilding team and much weaker.

Sarnia picked Zacha and immediately Walsh took to twitter and ripped apart Sarnia. Called the Sarnia GM a rookie GM and said Sarnia wasted the pick because they had made it clear to Sarnia that Zacha had no interest in playing in the CHL.

However, media that cover the Remparts had sources tell them Zacha was going to be Quebec's pick and had extensive talks with Zacha in coming to North America.

Connecting the dots, Walsh tried to make it so his client would get selected by Quebec to better his draft status, but Sarnia saw through it and called his bluff, and he lost his cool and tried to embarrass Sarnia (maybe in a futile attempt to get Sarnia to trade Zacha's rights to another OHL team?)

A few weeks later Walsh tweeted that Sarnia had convinced Zacha to come over after presenting their plan for them.

edit: I don't really care he tried to game the draft, he was trying to get his client the best opportunity which is his job.. What really bothers me is that he tried to publicly embarrass Sarnia when his plan failed.

Walsh is the worst twitter personality. I had to unfollow him because he went on more than one tirade over a couple of his clients. And some other comments about concussions at the time.
