I agree, plus both guys already have NHL size and could still physically mature even more.

I really hope some of these "under the radar" prospects we have in the system find their way. This organization is in desperate need of it.

One thing I don't like about that article is how they rag on Granlund for his production dropping off without his brother..

4 less points in 3 more games ? I have no experience with this kid outside of the World Juniors, but he seems to still be doing well in Finland and had a great WJ's.

He struggled to start the year and from what I have read his ice-time was down quite a bit and he was playing the wing before the WJC. The majority of his production I believe is post WJC, which I believe is promising as that is when he was moved to center from what I gather.

Granlund blew my mind with his performance during the WJC. I still think back and can't believe he put up the goals and points that he did.

Not a bad effort.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Jankowski still being underrated by a lot of people it seems like. He is fitting right in as a college rookie and seems to be on track.

I feel Gillies is going to be the ace up our sleeves in a few years.

While I agree on Jankowski, part of the rating is how close they are to the NHL. Jankowski has lots of potential but is still a project.

Gillies should be way higher. I think he is the real deal.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if, after owning the WJC next year, he goes pro after the season. And is the Flames starter the next year.

Book it!

yeah its difficult to rate prospects because everyone values different things at different levels. In a way I think HF the right type of rating system since it estimates both top end potential and probability of making the NHL, perhaps a 3rd rating based on how soon they are ready would be nice as well. (maybe use stoplight colors; green is nhl ready, amber 1-2 years away, red 3 or more years away)

So for example I would rate Gaudreau 8.5D-red but Baertschi 8.5B-grean

Or you could have 3 number ratings and weight them based on importance.

I dunno, just spitballing.
