Default What is the best way to back up pics and videos

I just need some advice as to the best way to back up our family pictures and home videos. All are stored on our laptop, but in case something ever happened to it I'd like to have them saved somewhere else too. Is a second hard drive stored at another location a good option? Or should I look at a iCloud account? I'm on a PC right now, so would iCloud work well if its not on a mac? Any help would be great.

I use Crashplan+ unlimted, it works like a charm.
As an avid photographer I require unlimited space.
Also, shopping for a new NAS / RAID setup for my home.

I use Crashplan, but backup my important data both locally and to drives at both my mothers and grandparents place.

No charge for using that part of the service.

How many pics can you fit on a BluRay?

Depends on the size.

Blu-Ray discs are 25GB.
