There is a "TBD against Foothills" friendly on the Cavalry preseason schedule....

In their final friendly in Mexico, Cavalry defeated second tier side Celaya 7-1 yesterday. Goals were scored by Gutierrez, Shome, Warschewski, Daley, Dias, Myroniuk and Chanda.

Not sure how many of the young players they brought to camp will be with the first team but sounds like there are some decent U-21 players.

Not sure, but that would be the logical venue. There's nowhere else suited for the professional game in this city.

It won't be. No official announcement yet but it'll be at one of the smaller venue's for the first year or two at least. Hopefully it takes off and they can justify moving it to Spruce Meadows after that.

Solid signing. 24 goal involvements in 83 games, better than 1 in 3 games. Great depth at a minimum.
I like these proven signings to bolster the roster. Hopefully the group that has been assembled can create some more open play goals

That would be unfortunate. Guess it depends on how things are set up but there isn't anywhere else in the city that has anything resembling a setup for pro soccer.

Word on the street is Bevan is leaving. May be retiring. Just had a second kid so perhaps he is looking to settle down. That could explain the Shaw signing.

Dang if true. I like Bevan, he's a talented kid and has scored some nice goals for the Cavs. I respect that decision though if that's what he wants. If true, he can ride off into the sunset with a smile knowing his last pro goal was against Facundo Torres and Orlando City.

He's certainly a long way from home, and having kids changes things. If he does go, I hope that he's able to keep playing in NZ. He's talented and still relatively "young".
