Imagine Flames claimed him... it would be like getting Smid, Granlund and Wotherspoon for free!

1.) Claim him
2.) Bury him in the ECHL

If he went to Edmonton that would just be gold.

I'd be good with either scenario - claiming him, or letting Edm claim him and further stunting his development, or leaving overseas...

I guess you can put me in the no thank you club. I will readily admit it's almost purely born of ill will from The Refuse To Sign Incident™. I am a petty man, and as such feel that the way he acted then shows serious flaws in character even greater than my pettiness. I love what the Flames have done with the team regarding character. This group of guys seems to be really stand up human beings, and I feel that Erixon wouldn't fit this at all. No need to bring into the system a sub-par player who has questionable personality traits.

What's the criteria he meets that he needs waivers? Only because he was claimed off waivers? Has he played that many NHL games, or was he put on waivers to shed the contract? If he clears, trade for him to boost the baby Flames d.

Remember when Tim Erixon was the Flames' best prospect?
Good times, haha

Last season Erixon had 38 points in 40 games, as a 23 year old.
This season Wotherspoon has 21 points in 46 games , will be 22 in 2 weeks.

I would like flames to claim him and keep him up. He's better than Potter, Diaz or Engelland

Maybe, maybe not but I'd rather show some loyalty to guys who signed here to become Flames not a chump who bolted without playing a game for us. Let's not hand him a spot over guys like Diaz, Potter, DE.

Not sure he's better than Diaz, though I'm sure he's better than Engelland. Hell, I'd take Zarley Zalapski today over Engelland. Potter I have no clue, never seen him play, he had good stats one year I'm not sure what his deal is. Bottom line, adding Erixon couldn't hurt but it will be a moot point as I'm sure EDM will take him to replace Petry.

That he might be better than our 6th best defenceman isn't a ringing endorsement.

Still one of the fonder memories of the Feaster era. The approaching crunch of Erixon's imminent fleeing and yet the Flames were able to make the trade they did to convert it into some decent assets.
As we're calling the Spoon up yet again, Tom is getting sent down yet again.

I also liked Feaster saying that he knew the coach in NY well (Tortorella) and that Erixon had another thing coming if he thought he would be gifted a spot on the team or substantial ice time.
and he was right.

I wasn't "endorsing" him per se, just saying that he'd improve our current lack of depth at the position
