You could argue Flames should have made this deal, but Zidlicky had a full NTC and could name the team he wanted to go to.

I would have liked Marek in Calgary as well. He would have been a good immediate replacement for Gio and would have been a solid rental for the playoffs.
He had a no move contract though and Calgary probably wasn't on his list.

Pretty good value for Detroit IMO, get a decent d-man for only a 3rd.
Is Timomen really worth that much more, especially since he hasn't played in a year.

They mentioned on the panel that if Detroit makes the final four, the Devils get a 5th. The 3rd changes to a 2nd if the Wings make the final and the 5th goes away. 0_o
