Bump,
Dougie Hamilton with a point in the last 4 games and is looking much better each game; still can't believe people were ruling him off so early.

Pretty sick jump in and set up to a wide open Granlund.
Hamilton looks like our most dangerous offensive defenseman. He loves jumping up. Good instincts to do so. Great wrister.
Only thing that doesn't make sense to me is why they don't try the LH-RH pairings again now that everybody is playing better. Instead we've got two lefties on the top pair and two righties on the 2nd pair.
Not hard to imagine our 1st pairing in a year or two may be Brodie-Hamilton and Gio may get easier match ups on the 2nd pairing.

Agreed, professional hockey players often times need time to adjust after knowing only 1 other team's system

Not only that. Until the trade, the only NHL *coach* Hamilton had ever played for was Claude Julien. He hadn't even had the experience of seeing the system change after a coach gets fired.

Celebrated Square Root Day

It was obvious to most fans when the posts were made, but good lord some of the comments from his early struggles are going to look stupider and stupider as the months go by, and likely downright ridiculous in a couple years.

I still can't believe people here were willing to give up Hamilton for Hamonic!
The people talking about trading Hamilton at all were being Ricardodwlous...

I can't even believe anyone would have buyers remorse to begin with. Not like we traded a top player to get him it was a mid 1st and a couple of 2nds that would have no impact on the Flames this year.
He needed time and I am hopeful the Hamilton we are watching in March is going to be much more impressive than the one we are watching today

It's called the "fickle fan of fate" I'm fairly certain it's a real disease.

In fairness were that many people "writing him off"? Or were they just disappointed based on initial expectations? I am in that camp. I am very encouraged by his play lately but still needs to improve to justify his salary and what we have up.
Premature to judge the trade now. But it is trending in the right direction.

Maybe this has been requested earlier in this thread?.... but can someone remove the [Trade] tag from this thread title. Everytime I refresh and this summer thread gets bumped I initially get excited when I see the trade tag at the front thinking that something new has finally happened.

I give everyone a pass. The beginning of this season was beyond brutal and emotionally draining for many. The fact that people were still here after one of the worst starts in franchise history proves we're all fans. Disappointment is better than complete apathy.

This thread should be shuttered and archived and a Doug Hamilton 2015-2016 thread started or something. Ongoing threads have their places but when they become long and unruly it's ridiculous.
Always nicer and cleaner to have a draft thread, trade thread, sign thread etc only contain the talk that day and a bit after.
Not years after like a bunch of uncouth slobs

You'd think it would be Cartman's but when I read a ricardow post it's always in the voice of the comic book guy from the Simpsons.
