Mangiapane!!!!!!!!! From Labanc and Anderson what a goal

Edit: Refs are talking potentially could have been offside...

Edit 2: We are good to go! Mangiapane is pumped his 4th of the series is his biggest

Just want to add that this goal started from yet another end to end skate up the center of the ice by Andersson (what they checked for offside) I've seen him do regularly because his skating is so far advanced than most in this league - he's not blinding fast just long, strong strides and he's seemingly never gassed.

7-2 Wheat Kings. Oil Kings overwhelmed it seems. No disgrace to go out, they aren't a good team.

I was blown away by andersson this game. Such a strong confident skater. Great powerstride. Eatbread as well but it was andersson that really impressed. For me I would be way more confident in rasmus than oliver as a while package

Jeesh, Wheat Kings taking the p*** now, up 10-3. Think its safe to say the Oil Kings are out.

Nolan Patrick with a 4 point night.

Andersson looks really good, but we need to be careful with phrases like Doughty-esque. It sets people up for disappointment.

I remember the first time I saw Doughty play, as a rookie for the Kings - I commented that he was the best 18 year old defenseman I had seen since Bobby Orr. Here we are 8 years or so later and he has been, IMO, the best defenseman in the league for the last few.

Andersson is playing in the OHL as a 19 year old. Doesn't mean he can't become as good as Doughty. But it isn't exactly likely either.

(note: I am not saying that you were suggesting that, just commenting on where Doughty was at 18)

Jeesh, McDonald got shelled tonight. Islanders fall 5-3, Mason gave up 5 goals on just 26 shots. Not a great night for him. Wonder if they'll go to relief goalie Matt Welsh in the 2nd game tomorrow?

Mangiapane with 2g 1a +2
Andersson with 0g 1a +2
Bruce 0g 0a -1

Colts win 5-2 and take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Shelled? Teams in junior regularly score 5-6 goals. I might call 7-9 goals getting shelled.

Whatever you call it - 5 goals on 26 shots isn't a good stat line (.808%). I think it would be premature for them to go to Welsh though given how Mason played in the first round.

The Islanders are also playing the #2 seed now rather than the #8 seed and Shawinigan did score over 4 goals per game in the regular season and has scored 5 per game in the playoffs so far.

Much better night in game 2 for McDonald and his team. They won 3-2, series tied at 1-1. McDonald saved 37 of 39 shots. Good character to bounce back from last night.

McDonald made 48 saves in a 4-3 win over Shawinigan.
