He was down 5-3 at one point and definitely won 4 straight games (I did miss about 5 minutes of action so it could have been 4-2).
Polansky in a real battle right now as well - down to the third and final set against a guy I've never heard of that appears to be playing very well.

Polansky prevails after dropping the opening set and is one match win away from the main draw.

Francoise Abanda with a straight sets win and needs one more win tomorrow to advance to the main draw on the women's side.

Didn't seem to effect Rafa when ever he missed extended time, don't think Djokovic will be effected at all. All 3 are in the top 5 to ever play the sport IMO and have a chance to finish 1,2 3 in Grand slam titles when they all retire.

Dancevic has won the first set over Robert but is down a break in the 2nd.
Another young player trying to qualify for his first Grand Slam is Korea's Duck-Hee Lee. Ranked 163, The 19-year old would become the first deaf player to qualify for the main draw.

Frank Dancevic wins in three sets - I think it would be really something if he could make the US Open main draw. One more win Frankie!

big day today, FOUR Canadians could qualify for the Us Open
Abanda
Shapovalov
Polansky
Dancevic
and they are all 2nd matches (around 11am our time) on their respective courts so they might all play at the same time!

Abanda, Polansky and Shapovalov are all in trouble early on.
Denis was actually up a break before he went on a double fault bender and coughed up the first set. He's shown he's able to bounce back from early adversity lately so let's hope he can find the magic again.

The draws are out. Federer is in Nadals Half
If the top 16 were to hold
1. Nadal
15. Berdych
9. Goffin
7. Dimitrov
3. Federer
14. Kyrgios
11. Bautista-Agut
6. Thiem
-------------------------
5. Cilic
10. Isner
13. Sock
4. Zverev
8. Tsonga
12. Carreno Busta
16. Pouille
2. Murray
Pospisil gets Verdasco in Round 1. Possibly Lopez in Round 2 and Federer in Round 3.
Bouchard gets Rodina Round 1 and probably Svitolina in Round 2.

Pospisil has two very winnable matches ahead of him. He really needs to find a way to win a round or two here and get back into the conversation for Canadian men's singles.

Shapovalov up a break in the 2nd.
Dancevic just underway.

Unreal turn-around from Shapovalov yet again. This kid keeps showing the kind of composure and will to win that only the elite level players possess. Toss that in with the fact that he is winning a whopping 46% of receiving points and things are looking very bright.

Roger getting hurt now has huge implications. If he were #2 in the bottom half of the draw he'd already be in the final. What a pathetic half of the draw, even on one hip Andy has no excuses to not be in the final

I'm not entirely sure how the tournament places qualifiers into the main draw but here's hoping Denis is lucky enough to draw one of the bottom half qualifying spots that are not up against a seeded player.
He could be a big time mover at this event if he gets a little help with placement.
