I presume the money and term are going to be large. If he really wants to earn that money, points wise, he should stick to left wing. I see RoR as a very good 2nd line center and a top line LW.

RoR is certainly gonna be the Sabres #1 centre this season. So, I'm not sure what 2nd line centre means in this context.

Might have missed this but did o'reilly make the signing of his brother condition precedent before he himself signs?

Fact is that Langkow by the age of 24 had about half the goals/points that ROR got. And ROR has another 10+ years to pad that.

Your statement would be correct if you removed Iginla and inserted Huselius as Langkow had his two best seasons centering the 2nd line with Huselius on LW.

Friedman figures his extension is around $7m to 8m per. Yikes. I like him but that's a lot for him.

Just want to say that O'Reilly has to be some kind of genius when it comes to maximizing his compensation. He took a risk holding out on the Avs and ended up getting a massive raise and now he's going to blow that out of the water with franchise player type salary/term. Kudos to him for being as ruthless as the most ruthless GM, although I wouldn't want him on my team at that price. Other players should take notes, Johansen in CBJ tried something similar but gave in too early.

I don't think I'd want my team paying $7.5M for my second line centre, but best of luck to Buffalo.

ROR is a good player, but that is an ugly contract. Wow.

ROR contract very interesting. Salary is $1M per year. Rest is signing bonus: 10, 8, 7.5, 5, 5, 5 and 5.

Wonder what the point of that structure is? Tax reasons?

Am i right in thinking that signing bonus is guaranteed money, not subject to escrow?
That makes a lot of sense for Ryan O'Money.

Could be the 3rd line center unless they move Reinhart to the wing.

Yep, it's escrow protection.
