Default So what happens with Glencross?

Kind of a forgotten guy this day, yet he was the one that angled to be UFA and a big payday going back a year.

Where does he land and for how much? Does he get a deal at all or will he be on the sidelines and one of those late August signings?

He seems to have really hurt his position with his play last year and im surprised by it.

Phoenix or Dallas. That's my guess.

So in the end, the Flames traded:

1st + 2nd + 3rd + Glencross for Hamilton and Kylington!

(and Baertschi for Andersson)

My guess is 2.5 per for 2 years on a non-playoff team.

Tough to feel bad for a guy who has made 10 million bucks the past 4 years, but things really shaped up poorly for him this year.

So much for not taking a home discount this time. Instead it will be much worse.

Don't be Boston-esque. Glencross served a purpose for us and did it very well. He has become expendable here and I hope he finds a favourable situation elsewhere. Why the crummy comments? Thanks for everything you did here Curtis! What's next, you'll start rumours he was a locker-room cancer?

I think he'll sign with a team lacking depth somewhere. NJ might be a possibility.

I hope he hits up Anaheim on a 1-year, gets set up for 30 goals by Kesler, Silferburg, Perry and Getzlaf, loses to the Flames in the playoffs, and takes the strong season home to the bank.

He became expendable because he priced himself about 2 tiers higher than what he's worth. it's almost like he felt he should be paid extra this time around because of his play 3-5 years ago.

Fact is he can't play a full season and he only plays good about 50% of that.

So we say goodbye. Doesn't change a thing of what he did here and I disagree whole-heartedly with the % effort. He served us well.

I just think it's ironic how he made oh so very clear that he was looking to cash in big time as an UFA, and then promptly went on to destroy his own value by playing like crap. In hindsight, it's very easy to spite him for that. Glencross kept it honest though, and I guess it helped the team move him out for a good return too.

I hope he finds a team. Even if he's on the decline, he should have a couple more decent seasons in him.

I appreciate everything Glencross did as a Flame. He's the last of the "old guard" here, and he always seemed like a good guy and was a fan favourite. I hope he still has a few good years left in him.

I think Glencross will end up in Winnipeg because he may want to stay near the Calgary area or I could see a team like the Hurricanes take a flyer on him.

My guess is he gets signed for about $1.8 million a year for 2 years.
