If Sean Monahan refused to sign a new deal and got dealt away next summer, I imagine we would want some answers. I don't have a problem with them asking the questions at all. I'd like to know the answers too, even though I am glad he came to us.

Agreed. They have every right to keep asking, and it's their job to do so.
After listening to that conference call, along with some of the other information/comments that have surfaced, I think there is some reason to think that it wasn't entirely on the Bruins' plate, but that maybe Hamilton wasn't overly thrilled with Boston either.
If this were reversed, I would very much want to know and would be looking for more information.
Treliving jumps in and sticks up for Dougie when someone starts to ask about the "uppity" rumours.
Wow, my respect for Treliving just went through the roof after listening to him. Called the rumors ''utter crap'' and he had not a single ounce of worry about Hamilton's personality.
how good is it to be a fan of this team?
we had a good team last year, (bounced the canucks on dome ice)
and a great team next year, (gio's back, bennett's rookie year, prolific 1st line scoring, and also that dougie guy)
and maybe the best part about the feel-good flames might be the off ice news.
we appear to have an elite level management team, (step 1. steal a 22 year old RH Defensemen with size who just scored 40pts step 2. sign him to a shrewd contract. step 3. profit)
elite level coaches. (hartley just won the jack adams)
and elite level training. (one of if not the best conditioned group in the league, thanks ryan van asten)
this how you build a contender, win on and off the ice.

You forgot to mention Brodie. He really stepped it up after Gio's injury. I think the captain will be really surprised at the growth in T.J.'s game.
Not sure there's anything new here, but might still be interesting. All of this is Friedman:
“I didn’t like the Hamilton (trade)….I knew the Bruins felt that Edmonton was going to offer sheet Hamilton. And they really felt trapped. And it (the trade) was a move they had to make right away. So I understand how that happens.
“But I thought the process of the way they did it — and to me it was very similar to the way they traded Joe Thornton, like nobody knew… I was at the draft and when the Dougie Hamilton trade was coming down, and it was early and some of the teams were starting to roll in, one executive from a team came up to me and said, ‘I just saw your Twitter. Is it true that Dougie Hamilton is getting traded to Caglary?’ And I pointed, because (Flames GM) Brad Treliving was standing out there on his cell phone, I said, ‘There he is on the trade call.’ And he was furious. He was like, ‘We didn’t know.’ And he found out it was for draft picks and he was upset. Like I think you can look at a lot of the other moves the Bruins made and say, ‘Those were good moves.’ I liked the Lucic deal. But I think the Hamilton one, and they felt they were under the gun, I wonder if somewhere down the road they’ll say, ‘I think there’s a different way we could have handled it.'”

Lol at Chiarelli. This trade never happens if not for him.
If I woke up this morning and the Oilers had acquired Hamilton, I would honestly thinking about the oilers as a playoff team this year. He could have slotted their defense in almost the right places, and he's the right age to grow with that team.
Lol 😎

Sweeney - I hear your going to offer sheet Dougie!
Chiarelli - You give me no choice as you won't even talk a trade.
Sweeney - Sorry but Neely hates your guts
Chiarelli - Then get ready for the hammer
Sweeney - NO, you get your team ready to play against him, I just traded him to Calgary, I could have got more elsewhere but Neely wanted to see you squirm.

Could someone photoshop this into an iPhone text message convo?
