You can be a fan of a team and player without defending everything they do.

Looked pretty embarrassing from the gif but who cares. We all know Gaudreau is whiny and embellishes.

As long as he keeps racking up points he can do whatever he wants imo.
The first slash got him on that hand - there were 3 in the sequence overall.

I won't go as far as to say that I think he embellishes, but I certainly hate that he complains to the refs for every little thing, it seems. It is getting less lately, but I can see how it may have already caused him to have a bit of a rep with the officials.

Get used to it. You're probably going to have another 20+ more of these ###### bags try and sign up over the next few weeks. And they aren't going away 'till their team is out.

There's no doubt he complains but no more than say McDavid and like McDavid he's embellished here and there but I would argue McDavid is much worse. Seems Johnny gets a lot more flack for doing the same or less of what McDavid does. Has anyone noticed how strong a skater McDavid is until a stick comes near one of his skates and then his legs just give out like his muscles turned to jello?

Last night was a good lesson for the kids about the playoffs. Yes the playoffs are physical, but not like that. That's not how you play "physical" playoff hockey. Just stick to the game that got you here.

Johnny sells things from time to time but that was a good 2 minutes of intense hunching over and wincing at the bench. What's the point when the call was already made? Don't believe that was fake. As other posters said there was multiple slashes. Something hurt.

Gaudreau absolutely whines and embellishes, he's very similar to McDavid in this regard. The only frustrating thing is that McDavid dives harder and he actually gets calls for his efforts.

Feel free to cool it on the name calling. I've been here longer than either one of you and been a consistent poster throughout the decade of darkness. I think my reputation here is intact.

Couldn't disagree more. In fact, I think the opposite was true.

They got too focused with trying to come out and prove they *wouldn't* be intimidated by the Kings and were more concerned with that than they were executing their game.

Once they fell into that trap, the parade of penalties also threw the entire game off rhythm.

A lot of things happened last but Calgary being intimidated by LA wasn't one of them.

Not sure what part needs clarification seeing as I said "caught up in the Drew and Chuckie drama" not physical play, and that Ferland seemed to take the game off. That clear things up for you?

To be fair, Gaudreau did get a fine for diving this year...

Gaudreau gets tonnes of calls.

He is actually just behind McDavid in drawing penalties.

I feel like Gaudreau's drawn penalties are more legit being that he's a slippery 5'9 guy. Whereas a 6'1 McDavid flipping over like a domino is more egregious and frankly sad especially for someone with as much supposed skill and ability.

What does getting caught up in the drama mean then? Maybe a poor assumption on my part that getting caught up in the drama meant going over board on trying to hit everyone every chance they got an focusing on physical play rather than playing their typical game.
