Sending good vibes to the LA Kings as they embark on the Miracle on Manchester 2 and dump the Oilers on their head in 7 followed immediately by a 6 year old style temper tantrum and trade demand by Draisaitl.

I really wanted to see Edmonton vs Vegas in the first round. I think now this ends up with their easiest path to the conference finals since the strongest teams have to battle it out to get out of the central.
But really if you can shut down McDavid and Draisatl any team stands a pretty good chance. It's just those two can really do a lot of damage in the playoffs so it's a big ask, which becomes easier the deeper your team.
Kings will need Kopitar and Danault of old, along with Byfield suddenly becoming a star if they hope to pull this out unfortunately. It's the playoffs and stranger things have happened, but sometimes it's pretty predictable - like the Leafs finding a way to implode.
I do think the Kings have the personnel to get it done.
They just need to learn from the last two years and fine-tune their system and match ups.
Will they do what's necessary from a strategic standpoint though? I doubt it.
They need to take the Sutter approach and establish from outset that they'll lose this unless every man to a tee does their job within the system. The players believing that talent alone will carry them alone will #### them. They have to attack this like underdogs.

Without McDavid the Oilers are essentially a bottom feeder. The Kings need to make his life miserable in this series. Bump him, hit him, get in his face, and just annoy the f*** out of him as much as possible. Even if you just limit his chances, you'll win the series.

Yep. Too much firepower. Unless their goaltenders choke (which is very plausible) and then it becomes a high-scoring gong show each way.

I think the most fun thing that could happen for these playoffs are to have the Oilers win a tight, hard-fought series. Then we would have to suffer through the chest pounding, parade routes, potential new banner propositions, the pondering if McDrai are even human, etc., etc.
Then watch them get swept in the second round.
Sounds delicious to me.

That’s already happening which is why I’m onboard with everything you have said except round 1 exit would be even more pathetic = better.

I can see that. I just think it would be awfully (schadenfreude-ey) to watch the rise, and epic fall. When they fall from these heights, it's fun. When they perceive themselves to soar with the eagles, and fall from much higher heights, it hits harder. Makes for a much more spectacular nosedive.

No disagreement! I just want them to lose ASAP whenever that is.
