Klimchuk, much like Tkachuk and Kulak has Ukrainian name, and this is the year when rookies with Ukrainian names make the team.

can we please fix the title? Surely I'm not the only one with an OCD when it comes to player names.

Good point. Shinkaruk is also Ukrainian name. Feels like Ukrainian invasion in the Flames.

Looks like he's cooled down as of late. He was playing over a point per game to start the season off, but he's been mostly held off the score sheet in the last few games

Klimchuk reminds me of Havlat. Good all around player, made of glass though.

Let him play more than 1 full season as a pro before you label him like that. Sometimes players have rough stretches with injuries then are rarely afflicted for years upon years after that.

It has been throughout his junior career too. I hope you are right but not holding my breath on that one.

I can't speak on his junior injuries but last year he was injured by a cheap shot, t had nothing to Dow its him being injury prone or fragile. It likely would have hurt anyone in that situation. That's why I won't just call him injury prone, it's like calling Gaudreau fragile for getting injured by a slash.

Not comparable at all. This is the first time Gaudreau has been injured in his entire hockey career. Klimchuk is injured every season he plays.

You have a very week definition of "every season", perhaps you misunderstand the definition of "every"? Klimchuk was healthy his first 2 years in the WHL, misses a grand total of 5 games. In his 3rd year he missed 18 games, but IIRC some were to attend Canada's World Junior camp (I could be mistaken and it might have just been his final season). In his final WHL season he missed 12 games, again I believe some were lost due to a WJ Camp. Last year in his first pro season he missed 13 games, some time as healthy scratch and some due to injury. So over 5 seasons he has missed 48 games, some of which were due to WJ Camps, some as a healthy scratch and some due to injury. An average of 9-10 games per season missed, but here you are comparing him to Martin the band-aid Havlat who missed an average of almost 24 games per year due to injury over a 14 year career, he missed more games due to injury than many players ever play in a career.

Klimchuk has had 3 injuries in 5 years that have kept him out for a decent length of time. I think more than anything the timing of his injuries and how he never suffered one until after he was drafted, but saying 3 years with injuries compares him to Havlat is downright dumb, sure Gaudreau may have been a poor example but no more so that Havlat. Perhaps a more apt comparison would be Giordano who had a few rough years in terms of injury, but it doesn't make him injury prone.
